– April new watercolor month challenge:  Spring Things!

Today prompt list for the monthly challenge at doodlewash is  “UMBRELLA”  I am joining in this month whenever is possible.

Today the prompt in Charlie list is “Umbrella” I painted an illustration of a traditional happy walk under the rain. I love to ear the sound of rain while I am about to sleep it is very calming, I also love the smell of the rain on the grass or near the ocean. I grow up in Italy where rains often during Winter time and I quite miss it now, because here where I live in California, the rain is like an event when it happens! But I have to say that this past month we have been pretty lucky to enjoy some days of good rain that turned the surrounding hills in a beautiful intense green color which is rare to see!

Details about my watercolors:
watercolors are outlined with black, whithe and dark red pens. I used  French Artists Watercolors  Sennelier  l’Aguarelle,  Ink pens used  Pigma Micron Black and Dark Red ink #02 and a black ink  Pilot Prera fountain pen fine nib. I painted on a mixed media sketckbook.

You can see more of my Paintings visiting my  GALLERY  there are several Galleries you find  them in the drop down menu under Watercolors.

  1. Hello Carolina 🙂

It’s been a while since I last took the time to stop by and say “hi”… I hope you’re doing well 🙂 Your paintings are amazing, as usual, and this one really spoke to me! It reminded me of how I loved rain as a child… I would even put my bathing suit on and stand in the rain during summer… Enjoying the warm feeling of the water drops, the sound of the rain, and the very special smell in the air.

Now, I don’t take time to enjoy it as much as I should… Of course, I won’t step on the sidewalk in a bikini. The grown woman I am would probably get judging frowns if I did, but I realize I should stop and see the nice side of rainy days next time we have one…

Keep up the great work 🙂 And have a nice week! xx

    1. Thank you! A tip? Well if you like drawing the best is to get a sketckbook and draw something every day nothing big just a 20/30 minute drawing if your time is limited and just do free pencil or pen drawings then you can add colors if you like! Drawing daily is a great way to start! ❤
