MabsDrawlloweenClub2019:  Catacombs

Today drawing is almost a dreamy scene with soft tones of darkness, evoking elements that brings together the two prompts Mindless and Catacombs with a hint of Victorian – Gothic style. I made the drawing in brown ink with a final touch of watercolor and like for day 1 I wrote another quote that complete the drawing. I hope it will speak to you ❤

Alvin Draft/Matic pencil #03 Limited Edition Pink Mab Graves.  A dash of watercolor,  I used  French Artists Watercolors  Sennelier  l’Aguarelle,  Pentel Aqua Brush – I painted on a Moleskine Sketchbook.

Happy October! Let’s welcome the Fall Season that brings a lots of creativity and  great art challenges. This is a full month of daily drawings!
Inktober  begins today!
I am happy I made my first drawing starting this exciting new series! Once again I combined the prompts of my two favorite challenges.
Today my Vampire drawing is mostly created in red and black inks only a little splash of watercolor. This month you will see more dark themed art in my drawings cause the “mabsdrawlloweenclub challenge has prompts inspired by darkness and Halloween theme. It’s always interesting to see the way I can adapt my style! Each year I give myself a goal about what I want to experiment or work on during this month, last year was “Textures”, this year would be mostly “Inks and toned color papers” you will see a variety of interesting drawings. I hope you like my vision of Vampire she is not as bloody and violent as traditional vampires. Day #25 Today prompts are Prickle and Dark Forest. I loved to create this mysterious dark forest framed in prickly branches. This drawing is something different from my usual figures and faces in my Inktober series. Is a mystical image of a dark night, are you ready to walk in?

Day #23 Today prompts are Chop and Hunters Moon my drawing feature a girl out in the night, capturing the full moon reflection in her mirror, her long braided hair were chopped, maybe as  sacrifice honoring the full moon? Maybe..I am not sure about the Folklore about the story behind my drawing but this is what I had in mind while creating!

Day #23: Double Challenge #Drawlloweentober2018

Day #23 Today I had fun creating this drawing! I had no much time and it was late, I had to come up with a technique that will create something quickly without thinking too much and I wanted to skip the pencil sketch to create something uniquely spontaneous. I used this technique other times and I love it always the outcome is something unique! As you can see my drawing feature a Monster Warrior wearing an armor, you see him from the back as he is standing in the muddy water. Well to obtain my character I have first splashed ink wash and watercolor letting them flowing in the wet paper and let it dry. When looking at the dry paper I could see clearly the figure in the muddy water. I got my pen and started inking around the shape. I had fun,  is amazing how my monster warrior slowly took form and became alive!

Day #22 Today combined prompts needed some fun creativity, and made me thinking a way to create an expensive pumpkin and what a better way than have it drawn as a Royal Pumpkin Crown  ornate with precious gemstones, it’s perfect for the “Autumn Queen” and so here she is!

Day #20 Today drawing is a little bit in a different style more ink and I have used only one color. My latest three drawings are in the same style and color and they are beautiful combined together! Day #19 A bit late evening for this one!

❤ Details about my paintings:
 My Ink drawing is outlined with ink pens..  Ink pens used COPIC Multiliner Black ink #03 and 05, Micron dark red ink #1. Fountain Pen Pilot Prera Fine Nib.  A Alvin Draft/Matic #03 Limited Edition Pink Mab Graves Pencil.  A dash of watercolor,  I used  French Artists Watercolors  Sennelier  l’Aguarelle,  Pentel Aqua Brush – I painted on CANSON Illustration Artists Series Paper for watercolor 150lb, cold pressed, size 6×9 inches .

❤ Details about these Challenges:
Every year in October since 2009, artists all over the world take on the InkTober drawing challenge created by Illustrator Jake Parker  by doing one ink drawing a day the entire month. (read my previous post) Other amazing artists have created their own challenges during October. This Year I will Join two amazing challenges InkTober and Drawlloween is a little more spoocky Halloween themed created and hosted on Instagram by Pop Surrealist artist Mab Graves!
