I was invited to be interviewed by VoyageLA Magazine I am very thankful for the wonderful opportunity to be included in this publication in their Local Inspiring Stories for Los Angeles and surrounding areas. VoyageLA is a local publication with a nice mission: “Our mission is to build a platform that fosters collaboration and support for small businesses, independent artists and entrepreneurs, local institutions and those that make our city interesting. 💗 Today I am sharing the Mermaid painting I made for this week for Day 16 my mermaid name is “Eclipse” I was inspired by the wonderful Flower Blood Moon and total Lunar Eclipse we had on May 15, here where I am in Southern California I was very lucky to be able to see one of the most mesmerizing lunar eclipse it was perfectly visible! Welcome May and Happy Mother’s Day! Hope you all are having a wonderful day. During this month there is a lovely painting and drawing Art challenge it is MerMay the theme is Mermaids! This is a 31 days daily painting or drawing challenge, a great way to be creative. Art Challenges are good to test your skills, experiment new techniques and also to get out of block if you are in a moment of lack of inspiration. Join is fun and allow you to get in a serious every day painting routine or just to create a mermaid once a week or whenever you are able to. Every year I am looking forward to a few Art Challenges and one of them is this one! An inspiring challenge to paint a few new mermaids to add to my “Mermaids Collection Series”. This year I am not planning to do the daily 31 days challenge but I will create some new mermaids weekly throughout this month. Last year I started a Mermaid Spiritual Series on the theme of “Awakening” I will continue on this theme this year too. Happy November! I am back… I hope to find you all well! I can’t believe one year has passed since my latest post in October 2020. To all my dearest followers and blog friends, sorry I suddenly disappeared without say anything. Today I am checking in briefly to let you know that I am fine and all is well, I just took a long break from blogging. A needed time to recharge and look within, to stay balanced and focused. I have been active posting my work only on one social media platform: Instagram, some of you that follow me there knows and I thank you for your ongoing support. During this year, I have been painting, drawing and creating my work as usual. I have more new watercolor paintings to share with you from time to time in my future blog posts. At the moment I am working on my Christmas Art.
The painting featured in today post is my watercolor “Mermaid Moria” goddess of the third eyed mermaids, they have the ability to see beyond the veil of reality.

It’s that creative time again welcome October! This month brings some of the most loved drawing challenges Inktober begins today!
This is my 5th year participating and once again I decided to create my drawings inspired by the official prompts of my two favorite challenges (read my previous post here)
The challenge Mabsdrawlloweenclub is usually inspired by dark folklore and legend’s characters it has an Halloween theme. Inktober prompts can be anything usually common things. I find it interesting to see what I am able to create also when sometimes the two prompts of the day aren’t easy to combine! Doing an Hybrid challenge will refine creativity and skills!
For today drawing I had to combine Werewolf and Fish I guess I did it nicely and I am happy with my painting! I am not so much inspired by dark creepy or scary characters so I try to make them look less scary and more nice :-). I have created my Werewolf in a lovely female form taking a bath at the full moon light enjoying the company of a lovely Koi Fish.

Today I am happy to finally share this lovely watercolor painting I recently created!
This is one of my latest commissions I have been working on. About a month ago I was kindly requested to create a “Pet’s Tribute Portrait”in loving memory of Tigger, the adorable gray Tabby cat you see in foreground of my painting. The sweet lady that contacted me is a follower Blogger Crystal she loves my art since last year she was the winner of one of my Giveaways. She requested this painting because this year on September 11th was the five years anniversary since Tigger crossed the rainbow bridge. Crystal followed my World watercolor month during the month of July and saw several animals I have painted. The Squirrel, the Owl, they lead her asking me if I do paint cats and of course I do! I said yes!
I am not new to custom Pet’s Tribute paintings. I asked her to send me some photos and she explained to me her request. She sent two photos of her cats, the ones you see here below.
Tigger
Tigger and Daisy Mae (his sister from different parents), the two cats grow up together. Crystal at first requested two paintings, one for each cat, then during our talking ideas via email exchange, she thought that would have been great to have one painting featuring the two cats laying together. I agreed, that was the best idea as I could envision it already in my mind, we agreed on everything and that was it! From these two simple photos, my only references I was able to reunite the two cats in my painting. Crystal loved it! I am so glad and happy that I I was able to make her happy. I love animals very much their love to us is unconditional and amazing. I lost several loved pets myself, I carry them all in my heart.
I am always open to commissions requests like this one, to honor the memory and life of a loved pet.
