Today I like to reblog this post I wrote time ago and I hope that you enjoy it! And to all the Artists that love to paint I hope that you are inspired to try out this because it was a nice fun for me with a lovely outcome!
NATURE it is so precious!
Today I will share how I painted those beautiful flowers using some of the most vibrant and pigmented colors found in “Nature”. I always like to experiment new ways to use colors. This time I wasn’t thinking to paint anything, I had no plan and no preparation it was late evening, but…when creativity strike you can’t miss the moment!
Few days ago I got some amazing “Dragon fruit” or also known as “Pitaya” it is a delicious and refreshing Tropical fruit that grows on several Cactus species and has great Health Benefits
This fruit has beautiful colors on the outside skin, and rich magenta pigments inside or white.
The juice is a strong dye and it is perfect for painting, I used my 140 lb watercolor paper sketch book
and Aqua flo water filled brushes.

This is amazing. Love the fact that you are able to create from nature instead of chemical dyes.
Dragon fruit are such a beautiful fruit. I have never eaten one, but reading your link on the health benefits (which includes cardiovascular health) I must try them! 🙂
Thanks for sharing! 🙂

Hi Carl thank you! And yes I love nature and I try to use it the most I can we have amazing gifts from nature. This watercolor painting out of the juice dye from the Dragon fruit and Turmeric was fun to do it and in the same time amazing to see how the beautiful pigments lay on the paper. Btw Carl the fruit has great benefits and taste good is very refreshing try when you find it! And Turmeric is an amazing natural anti inflammatory. Thanks for reading I am always happy when you stopping by! 😉

Occasionally I have seen the dragon fruits in the produce sections up here in Canada, but never knew what to expect. Now I am anxious to try one! 🙂
And yes, turmeric I have in the odd East Indian dish, but I must eat it more. Have heard about the natural anti inflammatory. Need something like that after my long runs! 🙂

Yes turmeric can be consumed as spice on food or in soups or as tea is great on eggs very good for you since you run. 😉
