Today I like to share with you my new watercolor, I made it last night before go to bed and it made me happy! I love Owls I find them to be so beautiful there are many species and rare ones. Time ago I was pinning on my boards on Pinterest and I came across this amazing photo of a blue eyed half red Owl I don’t know what species is and if isn’t an edited photo I’ve heard that people do edit animals photos to change their colors, but whatever it is it looks amazingly beautiful and that inspired me to paint as soon I have seen it weeks ago. Last night finally I painted him thinking that today following our Community tradition here in our circle of friends artists it is the 8th of the month is #DrawABirdDay . Here below I will add the original photo that inspired my painting for you all to see this beauty!

Today I am also happy to join my friend Laura with my “Red Owl” this painting is my entry for the monthly Draw-a-Bird Day, a lovely event that Laura kindly used to host on her Blog Create Art Everyday! I don’t know if Laura still doing this her Blog to not be updated but in any case let’s keep this lovely event going on #DrawABirdDay

Wow, that is beautiful, Carolina. I love the way you still manage to stamp your own style on your paintings even when taking inspiration from a picture.

I love owls too! (Then again, I love most animals). There’s a barn owl who lives near my house, and I’ve been lucky enough to hear him calling multiple times. I may even have seen him once, although I couldn’t get close enough to be certain.

Hi Josh thank you for the follow and for stopping by my Blog! I assume that you have seen my Owl painting..here I can hear them sometimes, but I really would love to see one very close. At times I went to hike in evening when gets dark and I have seen one flying over my head, but it was too fast I couldn’t see it close. I was able to recognize the shape he was on a tree and start flying when we passed. Also another time one was on top of a pole a very tall pole and I had a conversation with him…lol imitating his sound he was responding too me many times that was sooo cool! 🙂

I certainly did see your painting! I love how it’s mildly abstracted: just enough to make the owl seem mystical, but not so much that it’s hard to figure out what you’re portraying. The way the bottom of the owl trails off at the end adds to this effect well.
It must’ve been incredible to have an owl respond to you when you mimicked his sound!

Thank you Josh I am happy that you like my Owl! It was indeed incredible and amazing when he started to respond to my mimicked call we did this call and respond for like 10 times I could see him, he was standing proud on the top of this very tall pole and proudly stayed there talking to me it was sure one experience that I wont forget!
