– April new watercolor month challenge:  Spring Things!

Today prompt list for the monthly challenge at doodlewash is  “BUTTERFLY”  I am joining in this month whenever is possible.

Today the prompt Butterfly couldn’t be missed!  I love butterflies so much that I have a tattoo with a Monarch on my foot.  The butterfly has elegance, beauty and gorgeous colors they are just stunning and they have a beautiful meaning:
“Butterflies are deep and powerful representations of life. Many cultures associate the butterfly with our souls. The Christian religion sees the butterfly as a symbol of resurrection. Around the world, people view the butterfly as representing endurance, change, hope, and life” ( Source gardenswithwings.com)
Today painting is a quick one that I sketched very fast. I had no much time and I am working in between several work in progress paintings, so I am glad I was able to manage my first watercolor of the month.

Details about my watercolors:
 watercolors are outlined with black pens. I used  French Artists Watercolors  Sennelier  l’Aguarelle,  Ink pens used  Pigma Micron Black ink #02 and a black ink  Pilot Prera fountain pen fine nib. I painted on a mixed media sketckbook.

  2. They even transform us when we just look at them…we stop…really stop, and watch that small beauty as she passes us by…not realising that we are finally in the ‘now’…for just a moment, before we allow the world to intrude once more 😀

    1. That’s so true Mark thank you so much for your beautiful words, is true they have the ability to stop us. A couple of weeks ago happened that I was able to photograph a butterfly that crossed my path, I had to really stop and be very still to take the photos a wonderful “now” that I have been able to capture. I will post the photos sometime soon 😉

  6. Awh, you know you have my heart with butterflies! Beautiful. My symbol of transformation and liberation! And it is a special moment each year when I see the first butterflies fluttering around again in spring! Beautiful painting, Carolina!

      3. Well its good to look on the bright side > India is appalling. Glad I’m not there. I have an origins laseregg which tells me what the air is like in my apartment, 2 air purifiers and a box of masks of varying designs. Cant do any more than that really. Keep in touch mate
