New painting release!  “Open To Wonder”

Today post feature the release of my new watercolor painting. This is the finished piece and last stage to the work in progress that you have been following from my latest couple of Blog posts. If you missed the stages of the work in progress you can see the initial sketch here and the beginning of watercoloring here.   I enjoyed very much to create this portrait inspired by the “Blythe doll”. I love the softness and transparency of the watercolors and  I left it as pure watercolor without the ink outline that usually distinguish most of my paintings. I finally decided the title and I am happy to say that I took the lovely suggestion of one of you! In my other post I asked you all to suggest a title and help me.  I thank  everyone that did! For this painting I took the lovely suggestion of my dear Blog friend Miriam in her comment she said: “This is really lovely. She looks open to wonder” and yes I love it and recall deeply the meaning of my painting “Open To Wonder”  I think works beautifully. Thank you Miriam!

With this painting today I am joining Charlie at doodlewash for the new May challenge:

– May new watercolor month challenge:  Painting Textures!

Today’s word prompt for the monthly challenge at doodlewash  is  “Flowery”.

This portrait is filled of  “Butterflies and Flowers” the beauty found in nature that make us open to wonder about life and the transformations we go through! this is the meaning behind my painting. The challenge theme is about painting textures my little flowers have some texture.

Details about my sketch and watercolor painting:
I Sketched on a mixed media large sketchbook size 9 x 11 inches and I used a  Draft/Matic Pencil  0.3mm  Mab Graves Limited Edition by ALVIN, a Carmine Red Pencil THINEX 425T (Vintage) – I used  French Artists Watercolors  Sennelier  l’Aguarelle.

      1. My editing is going great, everything else is falling by the wayside. Sadly, I haven’t framed my dragon yet, but I’ll be sure to let you know when I do.

      1. Oh a bit strange it seems long to me but I might be wrong! Are you sure the mail man didn’t left a note to pick up the package in person at the Post Office? Sometimes they hold it because if there are taxes to pay you have to go to the Post Office in person!
