Today painting prompt is “Summer Tunes” this has been a very nice and fun prompt for me to paint and illustrate in a comic cartoons 50’s looking style. This painting is inspired by the album covers of one of my favorite bands nowadays Scottish “The Twilight Sad” I don’t know the name of who created the original covers, I wish I knew to be able to give credit. This is my vision and reinterpretation combining two of their album covers together as watercolor painting with ink outline. If you are a fan of this band then you know exactly about these album covers! 😉 This painting it is also created as part of my Collection “Art For Music” it is also my second painting dedicated to this band. I love their music and it is for sure my go to Summer Tunes and all year round with few other amazing bands I love.

Details about my watercolor paintings:
My watercolors is outlined with black and white ink pens. I used French Artists Watercolors Sennelier l’Aguarelle, Ink pens used COPIC Multiliner Black ink #03 and 05 . A Alvin Draft/Matic #03 Limited Edition Pink Mab Graves Pencil. Pentel Aqua Brush – I painted on Bee Paper for watercolor 140lb, 100% cotton, cold pressed, size 6×9 inches .

Today painting is an off prompt! I decide instead to paint a tribute portrait to Surrealist Artist “Frida Kahlo” this is a commemorative month since yesterday was her birthday. Artist all over the world are giving their tribute. I made my portrait in my style but something a little different from my usual, it has the Surrealist touch, I painted inspired by her life story and by several of her original paintings like ” Self-Portrait With Bonito -1941″, “The Broken Column -1944”, “The Deer Wondered – 1946″, ” Elements like flowers, animals, arrows and internal body parts are often appearing in her paintings as her creative and unique way of artistic expression.

Frida Kahlo mostly painted self portraits one of her famous quotes says: “I paint self-portraits because I am so often alone, because I am the person I know best”

I love the ocean and I always loved a relaxing walk on the boardwalk, feeling the ocean breeze and loose my sight in the horizon looking at the beautiful sky, enjoying the company of the Seagulls and often have them coming really close! My painting remind me these lovely moments!

Plumeria Flower Painting Challenge is ended! #worldwatercolorgroup

Plumeria Flowers from my photo to a watercolor painting challenge!

A couple of weeks ago I made a post with my photo of this beautiful Plumeria Flower and I decided to use it for a watercolor painting challenge open to anyone that paint watercolors and especially to my friends Artists Bloggers from our #worldwatercolorgroup well yesterday June 30 this challenge ended! I had a nice response from two lovely ladies Miriam and Carol inspired by my photo and challenge they painted their version of my Plumeria photo. I previously posted my painting and today I am going to post all the paintings, to honor Miriam and Carol beautiful work!

From my Photo to a Watercolor Painting Challenge! Plumeria Flowers

Today I am happy to post my just finished “Plumeria Flowers” watercolor painting! I loved to create this piece in one of my signature styles: Watercolor and Ink.
I like how it turned out and I hope you like it too! Be inspired by this if you like painting or drawing, go, get paper and brushes and paint it! 🙂 this is a Challenge!

On June 14 I posted one of my photos, it was a beautiful “Plumeria Flower“ while writing the post, I had the inspiration and the wish to paint it and turn my photo in a painting. What a beautiful idea to share it with other artists and giving a painting Challenge to the friends of the #worldwatercolorgroup and not it is open to anyone that want to participate, it still time if you’re inspired by this Challenge, the deadline is June 30, you have few more days if you would like to participate!
