Hello friends,
first of all happy February! I hope you are all well embracing the new month!
if you followed my previous posts you know that during January I have participated to  “Draw This In Your Style” Challenge twice already and today I am posting my third painting created for the same Challenge  hosted on Instagram, this time by Artist Sam Crow #samscuriouschallenge  you can see more of her curious creatures on her art account on Instagram @samscuriouscreatures  for this challenge she selected two of her beautiful creatures I was soon inspired to recreate  in my style this one the little “Witch Omega” from Sam lovely original acrylic painting.

Omega – Watercolor Ink Painting ©CarolinaRussoAbout my painting I have re-created Sam’s  “Witch Omega” in my own signature style painted in watercolor in a limited palette. The painting is outlined with ink and I decided to have Omega standing out from an oval frame that instead to be black or dark color like the original painting is filled in gold ink, not easy to photograph gold I hope is ok on these photos.  I really like how Omega turned out I am very pleased with this painting and I hope you like her too!

I have participated to another inspiring painting “Draw It Your Style” Challenge hosted on Instagram this time by Artist Raul Guerra  #butterflychildren you can see his art on Instagram @_raul_guerra  he challenged us posting one of his beautiful pastel drawings his signature “Butterfly Children” I was very inspired to create my own take on this. This month I have participated to a very inspiring painting challenge hosted on Instagram by Artist Annie Stegg Gerard
she challenged us posting her first 2019 oil painting “Princess Cordelia” for a “Draw It Your Style Challenge!” To enter we had to draw Cordelia in our own style being free to change anything we wanted. Annie’s painting is stunning just as it is all her Art.  Ethereal, fantastic and dreamy. I was so enchanted by this beautiful painting it gave me feelings of peace, serenity and love for animals and nature very inspiring to me that of course I didn’t think twice I wanted to recreate it in my own signature style. I loved to paint her and I like the outcome.

I hope that you like how I have recreated mine in watercolors and ink and please leave me comments let me know your impressions and feelings about it! I really would like to know!

I have to tell you that it was a bit intimidating at first, because Annie is an amazing Artist some of her clients just to name a few are in the movie and gaming industry Warner Bros, Disney, Dreamworks and more… but Annie has been so lovely and commented on my work in progress and again when I posted on Instagram the finished painting, she said that it is beautiful and that means so much to me. What do you think?

Today post is for the Day #10 I had a break during the weekend without drawing so today I am posting Day 10 but it actually is the 12th and last day for the badapples12days Challenge! I will continue because the other challenge is 15 days so I will keep drawing until I complete the two challenges! Today prompts are lovely Goose and Fantastic Animal so my lovely “Goose” is sure a fantastic one! I was inspired by the beautiful breed “Sebastopol Goose”   known for their adorable long curly feathers! My fantastic goose has decorated Antlers and walk with elegance on glass spheres just as one of a kind goose!

Today post is for the Day #9 prompts are Frost and Bright Snow, I’ve created something different for today painting! Instead of using watercolor paper. I’ve painted on a beautiful leaf that I have harvested in the wood. I love to use nature finds in my art. I love to paint on leafs and bark. I painted a frosty snow queen and added gold and silver spark. I am very pleased with this leaf it looks beautiful and is 3D since the leaf isn’t completely flat has a beautiful dimension! I carefully hand pick and chose my leafs to paint on it, I look especially for their shape and natural curves.

I had the idea to combine digitally and magically two of my older drawings in one, my white Christmas bunny holding a cup of hot chocolate and my Ballerina Sugar plum these two paintings fit lovely together and just right for the prompts, I really like how it turned out! Prompts:  Skate – Vintage Sled

Today post is for Day #5 for this painting there is a lovely image of skating on ice with a vintage sled!

These challenges are hosted on Instagram one is hosted by a Collective of Artists  “Bad Apple Collective”  the challenge is “Bad Apples 12 Days”#badapples12days  the second challenge is   “Wintmas” 15 days of painting lovely Christmas prompts #karlaswintmaschallenge hosted by artist Karla Pereira from Spain.  And of course I will share them also with the #worldwatercolorgroup.

❤ Details about my paintings:
My Ink drawing is outlined with ink pens. Pentel Pocket Brush black ink.  Ink pens used COPIC Multiliner Black ink #03 and 05, Micron dark red ink #1, Sakura Gold Pen Touch Calligrapher.  A Alvin Draft/Matic #03 Limited Edition Pink Mab Graves Pencil.  A dash of watercolor,  I used  French Artists Watercolors  Sennelier l’Aguarelle,  Pentel Aqua Brush – I painted on Bee Paper for watercolor 140lb, 100% cotton, cold pressed, approx. size 4.5 ×5.75 inches.
