Every October, artists all over the world take on the InkTober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day the entire month.
Anyone can do InkTober just pick up a pen and start drawing!
Hello everyone InkTober 2017 is behind the corner I can’t believe how fast time goes! Last year I loved to participate to this amazing challenge which gave me the opportunity to refine my sketchy skills and creativity! During the event, following the “Official Prompt List” I have created a fantasy character her name is ©Ylia and I have illustrated her adventures inspired by the prompt words. If you follow me before last year, then you remember Ylia, here there is one of my 2016 InkTober entry so that you can see her, also if you like you can see all the other entries on my InkTober 2016 Gallery:
I loved to create Ylia, she is a futuristic kind of superhero- warrior with a nod to the past, she is also a Messenger of “Love and Peace” most of my drawings were accompanied by quotes or Haiku that I wrote. Maybe one day I will publish an illustrated book of @Ylia Adventures! We will see what the future brings! For now I just got the InkTober 2017 “Official Prompt list” I don’t know yet what I would be creating, I need to brainstorm! This challenge is open to anyone that love sketching with ink pens but for the #worldwatercolorgroup we are free to add a dash of watercolor, I hope that someone of you will join me this year, you don’t have to be drawing every day if you can’t, you can do a drawing every other day, or every few days, or one entry a week! Doesn’t has to be a complicate drawing, it will help you to develop a habit and skills.
Here is the Story of this event: Illustrator Jake Parker is the creator of this great challenge and initiative started in October 2009. Jake created InkTober as a challenge to improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. It has since grown into a worldwide endeavor with thousands of artists taking on the challenge every year. Here are the 2017 Official Rules:
I am very excited this year to join Jake once again and participate to this great challenge with artists all over the world! Sharing on the Blog and on Instagram @carolinarussoart I really would love to create all the 31 ink drawings but I think I wont have much time this year, because I would be participating also to another challenge event (I will tell you about this later on!) So I will pick all the prompts that inspire me to produce great drawings.

If you like to join the challenge don’t forget when you post to always add the hashtags #INKTOBER2017 #INKTOBER and if you add watercolor hashtag #worldwatercolorgroup post your ink drawing online on your Blog and/or on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter…add all the tags to any place you share your drawings online!
I hope that my friends artists here on WordPress will join this challenge with me, that’s why I made this post early in advance so that you all can get prepared!

The InkTober Worldwide Challenge
31 Days 31 Drawings
Every October, artists all over the world take on the InkTober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day the entire month.

I am very excited this year to join Jake and participate to this great challenge with artists all over the world! I really would love to create all the 31 ink drawings. Last July I participated and completed my challenge for the “World Watercolor Month” 31 Paintings in 31 Days, very similar to InkTober. Tomorrow I am ready to start this new challenge with a new sketchbook, inks and my creativity. I will try to post my drawings daily and if happen that I am too busy to post it doesn’t means that I am not drawing then look for to the next day post. Be ready for my new InkTober Gallery.

Hello everyone during last two months I made beautiful new connections. Thanks to everyone for the participation to our weekly Meet and Greet Fridays I had the opportunity to discover and connect with numerous and inspiring Blogs and it is not easy for me to choose only one each month. I connected with Miriam about two months ago we came across each other Blogs and we followed and stayed connected. Miriam is a lovely friend here on the Bloghosphere I always love her comments to my posts. She has a lovely family and live in Australia on the outskirts of Melbourne, she love to travel and professionally writes about all her adventures!
Miriam posts on her beautiful Blog are a joy to read and are accompanied by her beautiful and interesting photography. Published freelance writer, she contributing with numerous Australian Travel Magazines.

“Hi, I’m Miriam. Thanks so much for dropping by and checking out my blog. I’ve been putting words to paper ever since I can remember and, in my late twenties, a Comprehensive Writing Course lead me to my passion – writing about places I visit and the people I meet along the way. I also discovered it’s a great way to journal life.
It was then I decided to try writing for magazines. It was hard work and it took years, but today I can finally say I’m a published freelance writer. Along with some casual copy-writing work it’s exciting to be contributing regularly to a number of well established Australian travel magazines, which you can view here. And equally exciting to be writing my own blog.
My travels have taken me to Europe, Asia and the Pacific however I’m now enjoying the delights of my own backyard, right here in Australia. So whenever I can I hit the road and write, I take photos and relish the great outdoors. I hope through this blog I can share my life, not just on the tracks but close to home, doing ordinary everyday stuff.
When I’m not traveling I live on the outskirts of Melbourne with a wonderful man who shares my sense of adventure and two teenage children who keep me on my toes. I discovered Andy only about a month ago we came across each other Blogs and we followed and stayed connected. Andy has a very friendly and great personality he seems that friend that you knew all life long and it is fun to engage with. Andy has a great Blog dedicated to his life change, his journey going from UK to China. The Blog is filled with his beautiful street photography, travelling experiences, advice, suggestions and daily life happening, he always bring me a good laugh while reading his posts! Andy is a Writer, Teacher, Traveler and I add Explorer too, he is the Author of the book “Just Turn Left at the Mountain multi-entry trials meandering across Chinese borders”
