Today is day 15/31 Charlie’s prompt list says “TREE” I am joining doodlewashwe are at half way to complete this challenge what a beautiful month for this Winter Wonderland!
I loved to paint my Christmas Tree! To make it look beautiful and tall I had to open flat my tiny sketchbook and I painted on two pages it would be the center piece of my sketchbook since we are half way! In many parts of United States and in Europe it’s storm time with heavy snow and cold! Right now at the moment is 4.30pm here in California and today is raining it is not quite like a beautiful Christmas time snow 😉 but at least for the feeling I painted my tree in the snow!

All this little paintings in a very small 3 x5 inches page of my tiny sketchbook! I mentioned at the beginning of this challenge that this month I would be working on small size watercolors and in my photo you can see how small it is my sketchbook compared with my COPIC Multiliner! Well I guess I am doing ok so far and able to add lots of tiny details, all my previous 14 days watercolors are this size! 🙂

For today painting a cake I decided to paint a Panettone which is a traditional dessert for Christmas in Italy my native country! I painted the two most common. The one on the left is called “Traditional Panettone” let’s say it is the classic original, in the past existed only that one, made in a dome shape it is very good and soft with a touch of candied raisins and citrus inside! Delicious I love both of them. The second on the right side of my painting is called “Pandoro” the name translation means gold bread it takes the name from the beautiful soft feeling and the color, this one also is served with powder sugar sprinkled on top and looks like a snowy mountain! The best way to serve them is to warm the up a little in the oven before serving, they are great anytime with coffee, champagne or a sweet wine every house in Italy have panettone during the Holidays until the New Year which people have it a midnight with champagne celebrating the new year. I made sure this year to have found them both of the known brand I used to have with my family in Italy. 🙂 Buon Natale! ❤

There is no Christmas without a Poinsettia! This plant is beautiful and is one of the Christmas flowers the deep red of the traditional flower is a wonderful color. I guess at this time of the year this plant is used to decorate indoor and outdoor pretty much everywhere around the world! I have been drawing poinsettia since I was a child, creating hand drawing Christmas cards for my sweet mom and family! No matter if is a real plant a drawing or anything that represent this red flower, just the presence in the house enhance the feeling of the holidays.

HoHoHo….is time for Christmas sweater! LOL
Well in many parts of the world is cold snowy Winter at this time of the year and this prompt remind me the cute hand-knitted sweaters made with Christmas colors yarn, I always recall the beautiful Norwegian style also called Nordic known for the colorful and pretty designs in this case my painting today is like a Journal page with the outfit of the day ready to go out in the cold. I painted the “Sweater”, socks, hat, sunglasses, a red lipstick, candy cane, pine cones a holly and of course a camera to take amazing photos of the Holiday Season! All this in a very small 3 x5 inches page of my tiny sketchbook working on small size watercolors! Cheers to everyone! ❤
Winter Wonderland 31 Days 31 Paintings Challenge!!!
Today following December prompt list it’s time for “FIREPLACE” I am joining Charlie at doodlewash
For this painting I wanted to put together the atmosphere of a cozy fireplace ready for the Holidays! Who doesn’t love to be near a magic fireplace and relax with the sparcking flame, it is the perfect way to warm up a cold Winter and to release your stress! A teddy bear, colored stockings, the Christmas tree all comes together for happy and joyful moments drinking a hot chocolate at the fireplace. What a better vignette to have all these lovely things in one place and see the cute teddy bear enjoying it all! I wish you all to have beautiful moments when near a fireplace! ❤
For this painting I also used a gold pen on the Christmas tree and the lettering. I was able to take the photo to show the gold, I hope you can see it! 🙂
