NEW RELEASE – AURORA Watercolor Painting Portrait –
AURORA
Today post feature the release of my new Music Artist Painting Portrait!
My new watercolor painting is a “Fan Art” Portrait of “AURORA” included in my ongoing project and Collection “ART FOR MUSIC” my series inspired by music artists I love and by my passion for music. In this series I like to create artworks using several media, traditional watercolor paintings, ink drawings, digital art, photo manipulation and any other media that will inspire my creations.
Today Release is for my New Watercolor Painting a Portrait dedicated to beautiful and unique AURORA her dreamy and pure emotional music stands out from the music artists crowd in today music world showing something different and unique. Her live shows are very emotional as all her songs are and made you feel like travelling through a tunnel of changing emotions from sad and dark to happy and joyful tunes throughout the whole show! Aurora started to write songs secretly at very early age following her own path and what she has produced and released is wonderful as in her songs she explores feelings and emotions in-depth mastering her own creative ways to communicate what pulses inside her soul not just with words as you can feel it in her gorgeous sound of her voice and see it in her body language. She is so expressive through her blue eyes and facial mimic to her hands and arms movements. She has the ability to turn one with the music while singing and dancing over her notes she is free to be authentically herself also wearing unique and artfully created outfits. She has a great way to perform in her live shows she connects deeply with who receive her message…her fans that she call her Tribe and warriors of light. She has an ethereal look with white platinum hair and pale skin she is like a walking tiny fairy stepped out of a fairy tale for a moment and ready to take you back in with her. Her uniqueness in all her aspects is why I like her so much and why I decided to create this painting dedicated to her and all her fans.
AURORA On Stage
Aurora Aksnes is her birth name as she kept it as her name AURORA she is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, producer. I think Aurora was a prodigy child as she started composing melodies on a piano at the age of 6 and writing songs in her own world at the age of 9 as she still very young now she is already Internationally recognized Award winner and very much loved. She became active to share her songs and music in 2012 until her debut in 2015 with her beautiful and successful EP “Running With The Wolves” the same year one of her single “Runaway” in UK received over 1 millions of streams on Spotify just in the first 6 weeks since the debut release. During the year 2016 she released worldwide her studio album “All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend“, in 2018 AURORA released her first half of her second EP album title “Infections of a Different Kind (Step 1)”, while she plans to release the second half “Step 2” to follow in 2019 or 2020. At this moment she is here in US for her North America Tour.

This is my second Haiku of the 2019 inspired by one of my favorite song lyrics. Last week I posted my first one title “Dark” Inspired by a song of The Cure. I started this “Favorite SongHaiku Series” inspired by my friend at Cyranny’s Cove! and I have seen others getting inspired to do this as my dear friend Syl he posted his beautiful Haiku “When The Wind Blows” inspired by one of his favorite songs. I like to do this very much and thank everyone that join in! Today I was inspired to write a second Haiku by one of my favorite songs “Harlem River” by Kevin Morby l love the sound of this song and especially this specific version of 9 minutes long I love the long instrumental part in the final of the song. I often listen this song on repeat while painting! I am sure you will enjoy the song and if you are brave enough try to write your Haiku pick your favorite song!
Try to write your Haiku from your favorite song it’s fun, a great practice and very challenging…
How to do it? Go through the lyrics and use the words that more speaks to you to create your Haiku be careful to keep the words in a way that combined in your Haiku will remain the song! Yes I know isn’t easy but you would be surprised!
I am thinking to make this as a weekly or monthly Challenge where we can all post a link to our song’s inspired Haiku!
What do you think will you be interested to participate?
Let me know and I will think how to create the event here on my Blog! Any suggestion is welcome 😉
Leave me a comment if you like the idea so that I know I wont be alone…. ❤
Hope the New Year found you all well!
Today post is my first Haiku of the 2019 and I have to say that I wrote this Haiku in a whim right after I read the Haiku posted by my dear friend Cyranny, you can read it at her Blog Cyranny’s Cove! She inspired me to create my Haiku using the words of one of my favorite songs, I also illustrated the Haiku with one of my older watercolor paintings (Prints available in my Shop!) I loved to do this and to write my Haiku I actually played a bit with the words and I have changed the sequence from the official lyrics but I was able to keep the sense and meaning of the words in the original song! Check it out this is the beautiful song “A Forest” of The Cure…I found a video that has the lyric on screen!
I think this is a great idea if you love music and love to write Haiku it is pretty challenging to create a Haiku from the words of a song…Sure it is a good practice I suggest you to pick your favorite song and try! What do you think?
New Release – Robert Smith “THE CURE” Watercolor Painting Portrait –
Today post feature the release of my new watercolor painting a Fan Art portrait for my Collection “ART FOR MUSIC” a series inspired by music artists and by my passion for music. In this series I like to create artworks using several media, traditional watercolor paintings, ink drawings, digital art, photo manipulation and any other media that will inspire my creations.
The New Release of my watercolor painting is the Portrait of Robert Smith the musician lead singer, guitarist, lyricist, songwriter and the only consistent member of the iconic UK band “THE CURE” co-founded with Lol Tolhurst in 1976. I am a lifelong fan of this amazing band, their music has been and still the soundtrack of most of my life. From a long time I wanted to paint a portrait of Robert Smith but it didn’t happen until yesterday. For some bizarre reasons I felt the wish and urge to paint since I haven’t painted much during this week. I wanted to paint, I was searching online for inspiration and I got inspired to paint Robert portrait right after I came across a nice photo shared in one of the various Fan Groups of The Cure that I’ve joined on Facebook. That was the magic moment when I came across the color photo posted down below. I said to myself “today I am going to paint him!” I sat down and started to paint peacefully for hours listening my favorite albums of the band until the portrait was done! Isn’t amazing how creativity and inspiration works? Most of the time it strikes when you don’t even expect it! It’s fantastic! If ever Robert see my portrait I hope he likes it! ❤
The 2018 is a great year and a milestone for The Cure band because they are “Celebrating the 40 Years Anniversary 1978 – 2018” last July in Hyde Park, London, UK they celebrated with a great concert and more to come in 2019! They are such a wonderful band is great that they are playing better than ever and still together! I am so happy that I was able to paint my portrait during this milestone and commemorative year. I have attended their Concert in 2016 they came to US, Los Angeles during their North American Tour and I wrote a very detailed Blog post about that unforgettable and magic 3 hours concert I can’t wait to see them again. If you like you can read my wonderful experience of that day at The Hollywood Bowl read it > Here
This is the photo of “Robert Smith” that inspired my Portrait! What I loved is that he look you straight in the eyes!

What a great accomplishment for Nu-San and for me too! Congratulations Sandy!
I loved to be the chosen Artist and creator of a commissioned Original Painting designed to be the “Album Cover” for Nu-San new album “Nu Nostalgia”. I am sure that you remember some of my updates and previous posts about this creation and exciting project. A couple of days ago I have received some nice photos from Nu-San and I am so happy to finally be able to share them and let you see the finished product the album “Nu Nostalgia” is beautiful and alive now! My artistic part in the project “The Cover” turned out just the way I had envisioned it and it’s a Gatefold style Cover, when it opens, you can see my whole painting! I love Nu-San choice of the colored red vinyl record it match greatly with the color of the roses in my painting. The vinyl is a unique and collectible piece available in a Limited Edition of only #248 copies it can be Pre-Ordered now contacting Nu-San directly on his Facebook page!
The Official Album Release date is the 1st January, 2019 !
This is a wonderful album in all the creative aspects from the beautiful music and lyrics recalling the memories of a lifelong as the songs “Past Time” to “Come With Me” the music drives you in with the hauntingly sounds of electronic darkness and hints of techno in a world of Gothic accents that creates intense atmospheres a sure experience to listen and a great album to add to your LP records collection. A CD version would be released soon too! To Pre-Order The Album “Nu Nostalgia” Limited Edition red Vinyl record contact via DM Nu-San on his Facebook Page.
The Album Cover and Original Watercolor Painting Details: The Original artwork for the Cover is my watercolor and ink painting in my signature style. A custom request in the specific size of 12 x 24 inches. This is the result of our great collaboration a very unique custom commission for me which I am very proud. I am happy that I can reveal all the details about this project. It all started when last November 2017 I was contacted by Electronic Music Composer Sandy Bain aka “Nu-San” from Scotland, UK. Nu-San loves my art and owns other paintings and my Limited Edition Prints. At that time he was working on his new album and had a starting idea when he asked me to create a Painting inspired by a “Gothic haunting style” in my own style that he wanted to use as the album cover for his new album, the rest is now history, this is the outcome.
A wonderful project that I am so honored, grateful and thankful beyond words that Nu-San wanted my art to illustrate his music. I love music and love to support music artists with my art. I always wanted to create an artwork that would be illustrating a music album as the “Cover ” this is a wish come true for me and for Nu-San as he has multiple albums in his discography but they are CD version, this is his first Album produced as a Vinyl record and CD.
This project and watercolor painting is also included in my Collection “ART FOR MUSIC”a series of artworks created and inspired by music artists and collaborations.
My Original painting: is a watercolor and ink portrait in my signature style with a hint of Gothic and a light feeling of darkness reflecting in the light tones of colors. Nu-San asked me to include ravens birds, a graveyard scene, a castle and gave me the freedom to create and develop the idea. I enjoyed painting this atmospheric portrait while listening to his music to be able to deliver the spirit of Nu-San in my creation. We are very happy about how the painting turned out and now to see the Album as finished product is a great joy! The Original Painting is owned by Nu-San and beautifully framed and displayed in his home! I think it looks beautiful, the painting is now available as Limited Edition Fine Art Prints signed by me!

Today I am very excited and happy to introduce you with my special guest for this interesting interview. My dear friend musician Viktor Norðir from Germany. Viktor is also the founder, song writer, vocals and guitar of band RIGNA FOLK and has a Solo Project as Norðir.
RIGNA FOLK

I love to collaborate with other artists it is a great way for me to create and experiment new creative ways of visualization with my art in combination with others, you can see the video here “Stillness” Art And Music together can create magic!

It is very interesting to get to know who behind the music. If you don’t know Viktor Norðir and his band yet, this is a great opportunity to discover a multi talented very inspiring Artist that plays multiple instruments, has a beautiful unique voice that he can tune in different ways, has an experimental open mind a kind heart and an intriguing soul.
Viktor in his solo project goes by the name “Norðir” on September 21st, 2018 he released a new Song and Video “No Hell No” which is the first single of his new project.
Thank you so much Viktor for accepting this interview, I wish you great success for the new song, video and for all your music projects coming in the future.
I am very excited for your answers to my questions, let’s get started!
Here there are my questions:
1. For who doesn’t know yet can you please introduce who is Viktor Norðir?
“Viktor Norðir” is my artist name, I grew up in Siberia and am currently living in Germany in the City of Ulm. I love to reflect on the contradictions of life and learn from every experience I make. I want to share those in my music. So when I write lyrics in English, German and Russian, I reflect on paradoxical topics from different perspectives and want to question one’s believes and encourages to embrace new pathways in life.
2. When did you discovered your music talent and your great voice? And when did you founded the indie band RIGNA FOLK?
My parents confirmed my early memory, of having an enthusiasm for the voices of the singers like Phil Collins and Freddy Mercury and my approaches to sing those Genesis and Queen Songs by myself loudly. As you can imagine, our neighbors did not share my enthusiasm, but I was having a blast!
My parents observed my extreme enthusiasm and bought me my first guitar. From there on, it became an essential part of my life to play and sing daily, to be in the clubs, hang out with guys that were more or less rock stars in my eyes, and just soak up the real world of the music scene. I looked up to these folks and I felt indescribably cool just to be hanging out with them. I made connections to fellow musicians and made my first experiences in writing my own songs and lyrics. I started to look for suited musicians and made further connections for my own band project. This all led to my first band’s own gig at the “Musikmarathon” in 2009. It was a mindblowing experience! Rigna Folk was born!
3. Your talent has a beautiful way of expression, you speak multiple languages and often mix them in your lyrics how this idea came to you? And you are able to divide yourself in two, having a solo project “Norðir” and a band project with RIGNA FOLK, can you tell us how you are able to menage both?
Thank you for your kind words! The idea, just to be myself in my arts and to express all of my thoughts, just inspired me to start my solo project in may of 2018. For some topics, I felt, a different Language felt more natural. So I developed this trilingual concept, which totally enables me to experiment and grow musically and lyrically. In the band Rigna Folk, we have a storytelling concept and it’s a different way of working on songs, it’s a whole unique experience and it’s precious to me. I want this to be a part of my life.
For the managing part: its classical project management I learned in college and by trying organizing the band myself from the beginning. I set the aims and prioritize the sub tasks, so it’s more fun for me and keeps me motivated and inspired.
4. Your music has a very unique sound and style how you define it as genre? And can you describe your creative process and what inspires you while creating your lyrics and melodies?
My music internalize paradoxes as well as my lyrics, playing with catchy and experimental elements, pending between indie pop tunes and dreamy electronic-psychedelic landscapes. I am totally inspired by moods and nature. in contrast, I am also inspired by lost places, abandoned cities, industrial architecture and the steampunk and goth genre! In my solo project, I love to focus on unique songs and develops them till they are finished. I am working with feedback by my bandmates, my fans and friends during the process, and like mo make refinements on my songs. In general, my aim is to keep the process open, so the end product has a history on its own.
5. You just released a new video few days ago for your solo project Norðir, can you tell us about it? And do you have any tour dates for live gigs as solo and with the band?
The lyrics of “No Hell No“ reflect on the topics xenophobia and national identity. This as a current topic in Germany right now. I was facing some kind of hatred in my first years in German school. Interestingly, it was not the case in the very beginning when I started to make friends, but later, when their parents got involved when I visited my friends in their homes. As I am thinking, this speaks for a conceptualized kind of artificial hatred based on shaped believes. I think, when you are self-aware, you will never choose the path of hatred.
The song argues the decision not to hate anyone you do not know or understand yet. It raises the question of what would have happened if one had been born in another place in the world and where the feeling of hate towards the unknown comes from.
Just Released!
I have organized my first Solo Tour with “Norðir” and there is also one Concert with my band Rigna Folk here there are some dates in Germany:

6. What is your creative Dream Project?
At the moment, I want to find additional independent musicians for my solo project. I want to work with different artists and to exchange our skills and to learn. Also, I am fascinated by combining music with visual arts, as we did in our “Stillness” project!
7. I always love to ask this question, because is personal and introspective, If you describe or picture your inner soul how will you describe it? And what color would it be?
During the last 2 years, I am working on my awareness and am discovering the fact, that my conceptualized ego was the main driving force behind my decisions and shaped a major part of my life. The more I get into reflecting, the more I feel happier, fulfilled and peaceful.
So at this point, I would describe my inner soul on being on a journey into the inner core of awareness. it would consist of all colors, because there are so many facets. When I ask my ego, it would prefer black, but I know there are more ( fun fact: yeah when you add all colors in RGB it would be black 🙂
8. I loved to collaborate and create the mini video “Stillness” my art combined with your music, I thank you for allow me to use your music and I like to ask you what do you like about my Art?
I loved our project Carolina!
I think that your arts and my music totally harmonize together and create something new together.
When I perceive your art, I am feeling an overall energy of positivity and playfulness, and every piece of art I have seen from you so far, brings me in a fairy tale world, in a fable where I can take a walk and discover new elements.
It’s like a whole unique universe, and for me, this is the kind of art which is resonating with me the most.
I really loved your questions, thank you so much! 🙂
Thank you so much Viktor I loved all your answers 🙂 and I am very happy that this is a more unique interview because it reveals more the insight and inner soul behind your creativity and music success. I am honored to have you here on my Blog!

My interview with Music Composer and independent Artist James Radcliffe.
I am so happy and grateful that I was able to do this Interview!
Today I am very pleased to introduce you with James Radcliffe a wonderful multi talented Artist, a dear friend from the music world and part of our community. James is an independent artist a music composer from the beautiful land of Scotland.
Thank you James for your precious time doing this interview with me. I love to give the opportunity to get to know you and your art.
Let’s start with the questions:
For the reader that doesn’t know you and your music, can you please introduce who is James Radcliffe?
I am an independent artist based in Edinburgh Scotland. I make music, I write, I take photographs and perform live. In the last 4 years or so, I have built a grassroots social media following in excess of 100’000 people. This is what allows me to make art as a living.
Your music has a very distinctive sound and style, when listening it brings you in far away places, almost out of this world. Can you describe your creative process and what prompt inspire you while creating? And how do you categorize your genre?
First, thank you very much, I take this as a great compliment. It is hard to nail down a creative process, as much of it is a mystery. I will say though, that there are two main phases: the creative phase and the craft phase. The work is usually born from a kind of state of mind which is outside of time, when I am fully absorbed. The craft is where I take the pieces of rock and polish them into something beautiful. I cycle back and forth between these two until the work is finished.
You just released your new beautiful and fantastic Album ” Murder The Impossible” can you tell us your feelings and meanings behind it?
Murder the Impossible was a collection of tracks that I worked on in a very specific way in the studio. It took me over a year to get them right. Each of the tracks was aimed at a specific feeling, for example, the first track ‘World Enough and Time’ was aimed at the feeling of ecstasy I get from truly great music. One of the reasons it took me so long, is because I played all the instruments, including the cello, and did all of the studio work.
Murder The Impossible is the 5th genre-defying release from James Radcliffe.
What is your creative Dream Project?
The thing that I am working on right now. One of the great things about being independent is that you get to choose exactly what you want to work on.
What is happening at the moment? Are you working on any new ideas? Do you have in plan for any live gig?
A lot of stuff is happening right now. I am generally always working, on new ideas and current work. I think I am going to do something quite exciting and new for my next project, which I may release quite soon. I am also playing with the idea of taking all my music off the internet.
Live performance will definitely be happening soon. And I am looking into touring options as we speak.
This question is very personal and introspective, I love to ask this to artists. If you describe or picture your inner soul, how will you describe it? And what color it would be?
Like a roiling ocean. And black. Black as strong coffee.
