Wonderful Slowdive’s Rachel Goswell, 90s Shoegaze pop music artist, has organized a Charity auction fundraising for the new UK, Devon’s Deaf Academy project to open on April 2020. Rachel Goswell is personally involved with the Academy and sensitive to the problem of hearing impairment because affect her 9 years old son Jesse. Rachel and her husband Steve Clarke recently formed “The Soft Cavalry” released their debut album which includes the song “Bulletproof” and the interesting and beautiful Video performed by the duo in sign language.
The Soft Cavalry – Rachel Goswell and Steve Clarke performing in Bulletproof Video
Rachel Goswell expressed her motivations behind the Bulletproof video in a press release: “For a long time now I have wanted to do a video that incorporates BSL (British Sign Language) due to my son being Profoundly Deaf with no hearing. He also has additional needs with CHARGE Syndrome that brings many added complications. I live within two worlds both Hearing and Deaf; and have learned a lot in the last nine years about the many barriers Deaf people can face in our society. One of the main points I was taught very quickly is how music is accessible to Deaf people. Of course music can be felt through vibration but visually I feel so much more could be done to enhance the experience. We made this video with the support of Sign Up BSL to translate ‘Bulletproof’ so that the song flows properly in BSL. Sometimes with signing videos – they can be a literal translation of the words (Sign Supported English) which will make little sense to the Deaf viewer. Our hope is that we have achieved this and also that one day as my son gets older and develops his language skills he will be able to understand this song.”
During the past couple of months since Rachel announced the donation of one of her guitars, numerous bands and artists connected with her. She gathered and will auction off amazing generously donated items from great bands, musicians and creative artists. The auction lots includes unique Music and Art collectibles, memorabilia signed items, screen prints, set lists, shirts, jewelry, signed albums and lots more. Just to name a few, Rachel Goswell donated one of her loved guitars signed by Slowdive members, the band also donated a variety of rare items. A long still growing list of over sixty unique items is ready for the upcoming auction, includes donations from The Cure, Cocteau Twins, Mogwai, The Cult, Low, Ash, My Bloody Valentine and many more.
I am honored that I was able to contribute and donate my art for this great cause, give help for deaf children to have a new beautiful place. I have donated two prints a “One Of A Kind” Limited Edition Fine Art Prints of my recent watercolor paintings a portrait of Robert Smith “THE CURE” and of Frightened Rabbit -Scott Hutchison Tribute. Prints are OOAK Hand Enhanced with gold ink and feature hand written words from favorite songs! Since Rachel shared them on her Instagram I can share them here in preview.

An International Collaboration for “RAZUR CUTS” MagaZINE!
All the way from beautiful Scotland, UK 🇬🇧 to USA 🇺🇸 California a great indie publication “Razur Cuts VI” by Editor Derek Steel is now available it was just released yesterday 12/19/2018! This is the issue number VI! Razur Cuts is a magazine that carries underground and punk style inspired feelings, it is a new version of what could be a traditional “Zine” publication but even more as a real magazine and it looks beautiful! It is published out of Falkirk, Scotland by the kindness of Editor Derek Steel this magazine goes alive with few very interesting issues several times throughout the year having great content. Feature local and international contributors that submit their work of art, photography, music interviews, reviews and literature, it is locally distributed in cool places and it is sold online by contacting directly the “Editor” via email, I will post the details down below. I love what Derek Steel is doing with this publication, he loves to discover and highlight new talents giving the opportunity to publish and give exposure to their work being discovered by a bigger and international audience. I really appreciate Derek and all his effort doing this it’s precious for an independent artist like me. I came across Derek months ago, we connected and he discovered my Art inviting me to this collaboration and to create the Magazine Front Cover for this issue #VI. I loved the opportunity and here we are today. I feel so honored and proud to be part of such a wonderful project as Razur Cuts contributor and to be one of the Artists invited to create the Cover for this issue!
My artwork is the Punk red hair girl and the razor with the name razur cuts spelled backwards. I loved to create this watercolor and ink painting as it represents greatly the street style which is what the magazine is about. I am happy that with my contribution I help to make this Zine publication shine to the world and through my art bring it to USA!
♥️ Thank you so much to the Editor Derek Steel and to all the other contributors that made this possible!
❤ Limited Edition Prints of my Cover artwork are now available in my Shop on my page SHOP PRINTS

few days ago in my previous post I happily announced and welcomed you to the “Launch Party” of my new redesigned Blog and Shop here on YesterdayAfter!
In my post I announced that I would issue my first GIVEAWAY here on my Blog!
The prize is a surprise and it is one Limited Edition Signed Fine Art Print from my Collections that I will pick and choose for the lucky winner. The winner will only be able to see the print when is received.
These were the rules to be able to participate:
1) Like this post and make sure to leave me a comment it would be your entry for the Giveaway! 2) Follow this Blog 3) Like my Facebook Page 4) And follow me on Instagram @carolinarussoart
I want to thank everyone that stopped by but not everyone did follow the rules! 🙂
Well between all the people who stopped by, many left just a “like” which I appreciate it very much but only nine people did followed the rules, and “Left A Comment” they are entitled to participate to the random ruffle, the likes alone aren’t a valid entry for the Giveaway!
As promised on Monday I randomly picked the Winner! My photo shows what I did, I wrote the nine names in each paper, folded them and placed in the little dish, I have moved them around, closed my eyes and randomly picked one. With my great surprise and happiness I found out that the Winner is:
my dear friend and follower, Author Marjorie Mallon, I am very happy to gift her this prize! This brings a nice smile on my face because this is just a very nice coincidence! Marjorie and I had a wonderful collaboration this year, she released her new YA Fiction Novel “The Curse Of Time – 1 Bloodstone” and I have created two Character’s Design paintings that are published in her paperback and Kindle editions! Give a visit to her Blog and you will know all about it! Or you can read my Interview to her!
Thank you all for the participation! Wish you a great rest of the week!
