– Poppy Flowers –
Day #25 World Watercolor Month

This is Day #25/31 of the World Watercolor Month  today I wanted to paint my watercolor on “Tomoe River” Paper a lightweight and ultra smooth paper from Japan. This is a very light weight paper only 52 gsm nothing like watercolor paper,  it is so thin that is almost see through.  This is a writers paper perfect for fountains pens and any kind of pens and pencils also markers because it doesn’t bleed through.  The paper also holds beautifully light washes of watercolor. If you are familiar with the “Hobonichi Techo Planner” from Japan then you know that the amazing trendy planner that has followers all over the world is made out of this paper and is often used like an illustrated planner more like a sketchbook to illustrate the daily life! I love how the watercolor move freely and blend on the smooth magic thin paper. I painted these Poppy flowers straight with the watercolors without even trace them before. I also love the way the purple shadow turned out I outlined with the black ink pen but I wish I took a before picture it was beautiful also without the outline. I hope that you enjoyed my Day#25 in few hours I will post Day #26! ❤

Day #18 World Watercolor Month

This is Day #18/31 of the World Watercolor Month  today I painted this lovely blue-eyed cat!  Inspired by my beautiful cat “Dolly” that I had at my parents house for 13 years while growing up in Italy. We all loved her very much, she was the sweetest cat ever and gave us beautiful unforgettable moments filled with lots of love. She left this world a little more than 15 years ago. I miss her…today was the first time I painted her and when I look at those beautiful blue eyes she is alive! This painting is made in loving memory of Dolly ❤

Spring Bloom – #NatureDoodlewash

Today I wanted to honor the Spring Season with this lovely “Cherry Blossom”.

Before Spring will say goodbye to us and we will welcome the Summer, I wanted to paint one flower that is pretty much a worldwide symbol of this beautiful season.
The Cherry Blossom is recognized to be the National flower of Japan and in Japanese is known as “Sakura”. A flower found now pretty much everywhere in the world and there are many  varieties. The flowers are pink or white.  In the Japanese culture the Cherry Blossoms symbolize clouds due to their nature and their way of blooming as group of flowers that looks like clouds. This lovely flower also holds various meanings like joy, love, hope, humility and more.

Hibiscus – #NatureDoodlewash

Hibiscus - Original Watercolor ©Carolina Russo

Today is a very hot day here in California!

Yes, we are having an heat wave for this weekend. And with this temperatures isn’t too much fun to go hike!
I love to hike and I usually go several time a week but not today, so I decided that  my #NatureDoodlewash hike will be close to home.

My friend has a wonderful plant of  Hibiscus outside her backyard and I love the flowers especially the color  and shape. I decided to use them for my watercolor.

Hibiscus is better known as the flower symbol of Haiti,  but with the climate here the plant grows beautifully!

Hibiscus is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, Malvaceae. It is quite large, containing several hundred species that are native to warm-temperate, subtropical and tropical regions throughout the world. Member species are often noted for their showy flowers and are commonly known simply as hibiscus, or less widely known as rose mallow. The genus includes both annual and perennial herbaceous plants, as well as woody shrubs and small trees. The generic name is derived from the Greek word ἱβίσκος, which was the name Pedanius Dioscorides gave to Althaea officinalis. (Wikipedia)

Today I am bringing to our Doodlewash Dinner a lovely Apple Pie. I missed to post it on the National Apple Pie Day because I had no time to finish my watercolor and finally I had time to finish it today 😉 I think that Apple Pie is always welcome to any dinner.  I love anything made with apples especially combined with the flavor of cinnamon.

I hope that you enjoy the pie!

Open Your Wings…

Title - Peaceful Sensation Digital Art

Open your wings

When you overcome something
that was hurting you and your soul deeply

you learn a new way to express life
you are in another dimension

and you have a choice

you can turn something that was bad
into something good.

Open your wings to others
be free
and let your heart fly without fears
you could be an Angel to someone else.

Digital Portraits – When Nature Meet Humans – #1  Copyright© Carolina Russo

Launching
A Digital Art Portraits Collection

“WHEN NATURE MEETS HUMANS”

Portrait #1  – Proud –

Today I want to share with you what I have been working on and launching something new.
I like to continually evolve with my Art and creativity. From years I love to work in Digital finding new ways of visualize and learn while experimenting. I like to work with photos, manipulating images of any kind, my followers already knows and if you look at this Blog, there are many images over my menu pages that I create to customize the look of the theme I use here on WordPress like the “Header” which is a collage of many images layered together. Often I post my work created in  Digital Art  and  I am going soon to make a new gallery. When I am not working on my Jewelry Collections, and when I am not holding a pencil or a brush, I love to go Digital and Photoshop is one of my ally. I am using Photoshop from years, for me there are not other software to really compare with.
At this moment I am very  inspired on creating an evolving Collection of Artistic one of a kind Digital Portraits with the title of  “When Nature Meets Humans” this portrait “Proud” it is the #1 of this Collection and to create it I used 6 photos found over internet on Pinterest so all the images used are not my own Photography (I haven’t found any photographer name to give Credits).

I came up with the idea to mix nature with humans and create a unique and very different kind of portraits…let’s say very unusual portraits with all my experience, Art and soul into it and I love it.

If you’re interested in purchase a custom and unique portrait like this one using your own personal photos, I can create your personal and unique portrait, for info and details please contact me.

As always I love your comments!

Digital Art – Life of Courage and Truth

Hoop earrings_DArt1
“Life of Courage and Truth”

During the past days I have been working on several Artistic projects beside focusing on this Blog!

I have been working on Photography and Digital Art, Sketches and my Jewelry. Last week I did bring to life a new design I create hoops earrings with amazonite and red coral gemstones. I named the earrings  “Life of Courage and Truth” I like to write little stories for every jewelry I create. If you are one of my followers you probably remember my post otherwise you can read it here.

This is how my creativity extends from a starting hand drawing sketch, to other visual way of expression. I had several visions for this design. Created and born as jewelry sketch that become a tangible product bringing to life the beautiful earrings, and turned them in several photographs that I have been staging and shooting. Right now one of the photos inspired me to become this interesting Digital Art painting…creativity never ends!
