Prompts: > #MabsDrawlloweenClub Yokai > #Inktober Star
Day #8 Today painting is inspired by the Japanese folklore with the prompt Yokai which I combined with the Stars, I love to experiment lines and textures in each painting, the result seems very pretty and each day is surprising! I didn’t have much time today, so this one has been pretty quick! Made it in less than 30 minutes 🙂 I hope you get inspired by this daily challenge and motivate you to start drawing or creating in the medium you feel closer to you! ❤

Day #6 today prompts are more oriented to Dark Art. Very challenging since my art usually is not dark style but isn’t new to me to create in this style but not my usual. This is why these challenges are great to test yourself and your art on a daily basis. I had to get inspired to create a Drooling Ghost, isn’t too easy to make dark art not so dark and I wanted to create something more hauntingly, cold than spooky. I was able to deliver exactly what I wanted my ghost to look like.

Day #5 For today prompts I have created a drawing more as illustration style, and I have decided that my futuristic character needs the company of her chicken pet while spending her time in Laboratory, because, she is an animal lover, doesn’t eat and doesn’t do animal testing, so she just love him and enjoy his company! ❤

Day #3 Today prompt needed some quite of ideas and brainstorming to combine the two prompts, for Cryptid I have created my vision of a Jackalope with gold inked antlers with a very sweet look as you can see my illustrations are not so much Halloween looking inspired, next to the jackalope for the prompt Roasted I have created a girl who is made out of dissolving smoke! I didn’t wanted to roast anyone in my drawing! 🙂 Well I hope you all like it and enjoying my daily posts!

Today post is to Officially Release my new watercolor painting
” ALL IS NOT LOST”
Limited Edition Fine Art Prints – Edition of #60 Prints
I am very happy today to finally be able to reveal and officially release my new painting. The Original was just delivered to its new home. The painting was a Commission, requested by a dear friend and a Fan of Scott Hutchison. I was asked by Mick to create a second tribute painting dedicated to Scott Hutchison but in a different way. Mick had a starting idea and gave me the freedom to develop the idea artistically creating my vision and work following my inspirations.
This is my second painting dedicated to Scott Hutchison after my Tribute Portrait released 20 June, 2018.
Scott-Hutchison – Photo by Ross Gilmore/Redferns
I am sure you remember but for who is new, my #1 painting is the “Tribute Portrait dedicated to Scottish music artist “Scott Hutchison” a very emotional piece created In Loving Memory of Scott (20/11/81 – 10/5/18) R.I.P Scott Hutchison was a wonderful music artist founding and primary songwriter of indie rock band Frightened Rabbit The first painting is my humble contribution honoring Scott soul and to raise awareness on a very important issue right now in Scotland and in the World. Mental Health and suicide prevention. Scott Hutchison sadly and suddenly left our world last May 10, 2018 at age of 36. Struggling with depression”.
My New Releaseis the painting #2 title“All Is Not Lost” each of my two paintings has strong meanings, including very emotional elements, familiar to whom followed Scott life and music. This painting also have a double meaning and very personal to me because is related to my own life. (I will probably explain in the future}. The first painting, is the Tribute to Scott and his wonderful soul that is alive and will shine to us forever. The painting carries a message of “Legacy”. My second painting is dedicated to who is left, family, friends, fans and carries a message of “Hope”. Please highly advise you to read my painting meaning to fully understand it especially if you’re struggling with your emotions.
Painting Meaning: My painting is an emotional piece that carries messages of Hope. There are a lots of different emotions into this creation. The title “All Is Not Lost” gives an indirect Tribute to Scott Hutchison, these are his words and I want these words to resonate within all of us. The view of Scotland “Port Edgar”, such a beautiful and peaceful view and now with a strong reminder. The girl standing in the water is touched by the blowing wind, she is a soul that represents who is left, she is all of us. She is looking still and fearless to the horizon for answers and looking to the future. She also represents “Hope” and “Life”, that “All Is Not Lost”. We have to keep going onward! And find the answers inside our self! Next to her, emerging from the water, there is the FR double cross, that represents Scott presence and that he would be always there in our heart, with family, friends, fans.
Note: My first painting is a Tribute to Scott, this is my second painting as follows and legacy to the first is a Tribute to who Scott left his legacy.
At this moment I have created two paintings that are a perfect match to one another, they complete each other beautifully as the feelings of the meaningful messages. I have used the same color palette and gold ink as enhancement touches in the #1 painting on the double cross and in #2 painting on the girl hair moved by the wind. I love both paintings dearly. I loved each minute and hours spent painting such emotional pieces. They looks beautiful on a wall together. I was thinking maybe to create a third painting and close the “Scott Hutchison Tribute Series as a Trilogy”. So far we have two messages: Legacy and Hope I am thinking at the third message. For now it’s only an idea, let’s see what you all think and if will come true!
My Message to whom will get this print: Thank you once again! I hope that you love this second painting as much as I do and I hope that it will speak to you and reach your heart and soul deeply. You’re not alone, do not despair, keep going onward, “All Is Not Lost” we still have hope – Carolina
When the painting was delivered to Mick, I had one of the most beautiful and heartfelt feedback message sent me on Facebook. I am so thankful, grateful and for the given opportunity to create this piece and I am humbled that my art was heart-felt so deeply, from someone who loves Scott so much is more than I could ever imagine. I love to share this beautiful feedback message with you:
I have received the most Amazing Painting today from Carolina Russo.
Carolina Russo will have an Official release of this painting soon!! Below is part of my message to Carolina Russo after seeing it. I feel this gives the best description on how seeing it made me feel.
Dear Carolina, I am physically shaking with emotion. I am so overwhelmed, I am struggling to write. You have created a masterpiece. It is so beautiful. The Image in the water of the double cross, the bridge, the way she has her feet in the water, the flowing hair with the gold through it. I am blown away. It has so much depth and emotion.
You have taken a very simple idea and made it in to not just a work of art, but a real masterpiece. My heart lurched when i seen it. words cannot describe the joy i am feeling. I cannot believe you have created this beautiful piece.
I do not think there are enough words in the english language to express the way I feel. My mind is blown. You are a real genius. I feel it is one of the best paintings not only of yours, but that I have ever seen.
My gratitude to you Carolina Russo, Thank you seems so insufficient to express how I feel. Reading your hand written letter with the Meaning and the painting’s title “All is Not Lost”. Thank you so much.

I love to collaborate with other artists it is a great way for me to create and experiment new creative ways of visualization with my art in combination with others, you can see the video here “Stillness” Art And Music together can create magic!

It is very interesting to get to know who behind the music. If you don’t know Viktor Norðir and his band yet, this is a great opportunity to discover a multi talented very inspiring Artist that plays multiple instruments, has a beautiful unique voice that he can tune in different ways, has an experimental open mind a kind heart and an intriguing soul.
Viktor in his solo project goes by the name “Norðir” on September 21st, 2018 he released a new Song and Video “No Hell No” which is the first single of his new project.
Thank you so much Viktor for accepting this interview, I wish you great success for the new song, video and for all your music projects coming in the future.
I am very excited for your answers to my questions, let’s get started!
Here there are my questions:
1. For who doesn’t know yet can you please introduce who is Viktor Norðir?
“Viktor Norðir” is my artist name, I grew up in Siberia and am currently living in Germany in the City of Ulm. I love to reflect on the contradictions of life and learn from every experience I make. I want to share those in my music. So when I write lyrics in English, German and Russian, I reflect on paradoxical topics from different perspectives and want to question one’s believes and encourages to embrace new pathways in life.
2. When did you discovered your music talent and your great voice? And when did you founded the indie band RIGNA FOLK?
My parents confirmed my early memory, of having an enthusiasm for the voices of the singers like Phil Collins and Freddy Mercury and my approaches to sing those Genesis and Queen Songs by myself loudly. As you can imagine, our neighbors did not share my enthusiasm, but I was having a blast!
My parents observed my extreme enthusiasm and bought me my first guitar. From there on, it became an essential part of my life to play and sing daily, to be in the clubs, hang out with guys that were more or less rock stars in my eyes, and just soak up the real world of the music scene. I looked up to these folks and I felt indescribably cool just to be hanging out with them. I made connections to fellow musicians and made my first experiences in writing my own songs and lyrics. I started to look for suited musicians and made further connections for my own band project. This all led to my first band’s own gig at the “Musikmarathon” in 2009. It was a mindblowing experience! Rigna Folk was born!
3. Your talent has a beautiful way of expression, you speak multiple languages and often mix them in your lyrics how this idea came to you? And you are able to divide yourself in two, having a solo project “Norðir” and a band project with RIGNA FOLK, can you tell us how you are able to menage both?
Thank you for your kind words! The idea, just to be myself in my arts and to express all of my thoughts, just inspired me to start my solo project in may of 2018. For some topics, I felt, a different Language felt more natural. So I developed this trilingual concept, which totally enables me to experiment and grow musically and lyrically. In the band Rigna Folk, we have a storytelling concept and it’s a different way of working on songs, it’s a whole unique experience and it’s precious to me. I want this to be a part of my life.
For the managing part: its classical project management I learned in college and by trying organizing the band myself from the beginning. I set the aims and prioritize the sub tasks, so it’s more fun for me and keeps me motivated and inspired.
4. Your music has a very unique sound and style how you define it as genre? And can you describe your creative process and what inspires you while creating your lyrics and melodies?
My music internalize paradoxes as well as my lyrics, playing with catchy and experimental elements, pending between indie pop tunes and dreamy electronic-psychedelic landscapes. I am totally inspired by moods and nature. in contrast, I am also inspired by lost places, abandoned cities, industrial architecture and the steampunk and goth genre! In my solo project, I love to focus on unique songs and develops them till they are finished. I am working with feedback by my bandmates, my fans and friends during the process, and like mo make refinements on my songs. In general, my aim is to keep the process open, so the end product has a history on its own.
5. You just released a new video few days ago for your solo project Norðir, can you tell us about it? And do you have any tour dates for live gigs as solo and with the band?
The lyrics of “No Hell No“ reflect on the topics xenophobia and national identity. This as a current topic in Germany right now. I was facing some kind of hatred in my first years in German school. Interestingly, it was not the case in the very beginning when I started to make friends, but later, when their parents got involved when I visited my friends in their homes. As I am thinking, this speaks for a conceptualized kind of artificial hatred based on shaped believes. I think, when you are self-aware, you will never choose the path of hatred.
The song argues the decision not to hate anyone you do not know or understand yet. It raises the question of what would have happened if one had been born in another place in the world and where the feeling of hate towards the unknown comes from.
Just Released!
I have organized my first Solo Tour with “Norðir” and there is also one Concert with my band Rigna Folk here there are some dates in Germany:

6. What is your creative Dream Project?
At the moment, I want to find additional independent musicians for my solo project. I want to work with different artists and to exchange our skills and to learn. Also, I am fascinated by combining music with visual arts, as we did in our “Stillness” project!
7. I always love to ask this question, because is personal and introspective, If you describe or picture your inner soul how will you describe it? And what color would it be?
During the last 2 years, I am working on my awareness and am discovering the fact, that my conceptualized ego was the main driving force behind my decisions and shaped a major part of my life. The more I get into reflecting, the more I feel happier, fulfilled and peaceful.
So at this point, I would describe my inner soul on being on a journey into the inner core of awareness. it would consist of all colors, because there are so many facets. When I ask my ego, it would prefer black, but I know there are more ( fun fact: yeah when you add all colors in RGB it would be black 🙂
8. I loved to collaborate and create the mini video “Stillness” my art combined with your music, I thank you for allow me to use your music and I like to ask you what do you like about my Art?
I loved our project Carolina!
I think that your arts and my music totally harmonize together and create something new together.
When I perceive your art, I am feeling an overall energy of positivity and playfulness, and every piece of art I have seen from you so far, brings me in a fairy tale world, in a fable where I can take a walk and discover new elements.
It’s like a whole unique universe, and for me, this is the kind of art which is resonating with me the most.
I really loved your questions, thank you so much! 🙂
Thank you so much Viktor I loved all your answers 🙂 and I am very happy that this is a more unique interview because it reveals more the insight and inner soul behind your creativity and music success. I am honored to have you here on my Blog!
