Weekly Photo Challenge: “I’d Rather Be…” Creating

Today weekly photo challenge for The Daily Post theme is ““I’d Rather Be…” and my answer is Creating!
I love to create my art and express my creativity in many different ways, I am a full-time artist and I love what I do. For me there is not much of “I’d rather be” because I try to create art every day! I am a watercolor painter, an illustrator and jewelry designer, I love photography and digital photo manipulations. I also like to write poems, haiku and short stories.

My watercolor painting series are all available in Limited Edition Signed Fine Art Prints.

This is me on the beach in action with my camera trying to capture the moment…

This is one of my photos I love the ocean, sunsets and stormy skies

I love to create photo manipulations and I have created a Collection titled “When Nature Meets Humans” this Portrait title is “Proud” I like the Concept to mix Nature with Humans and create a unique One of a kind Digital Portraits. This is my evolving idea and concept to combining the beauty of Nature with Humans telling a story in the form of Visual-Art, combining and blending a number of different photos in one unique portrait. Each photo has a meaning that tell the Portrait story. You can see more of this collection here and in this Gallery.

Nature is my biggest inspiration in everything I create…

I also love to create jewelry for my “Among Nature” Jewelry Collection.
The nature is my greatest inspiration for my Jewelry Designs. I often use found in nature objects hand-picked by me in special places I visit. All my creations are made using only beautiful natural gemstones, seashells, fossils, woods, bone and crystals which I combine with precious and semi precious metals.

Sometimes I write when words are whispered to my soul…this is one of my poems
Hands
Artist precious hands,
intensity and love givers.
Hands guided by a heart pulse,
forging and hammering metals,
holding precious stones.
Inspiration from the soul,
happiness and art givers,
emotions in a motion of senses.
stroking brushes fulfilled with passion,
dripping water on white paper,
splashes of colors take forms.
Ink tears into the unknown
a creation is born.

Unique one of a kind Keepsake Jewelry “Memories From the Ocean”

Today I am going to share one of my jewelry design and unique creation.
“Memories from the Ocean” Necklace
This beautiful one of a kind necklace is part of a new concept I am launching here.
This concept is about creating unique Keepsake Memories Jewelry with found objects.
I love bringing to life unique jewels created with objects found in our precious nature.

For this necklace I used beautiful founds from the Ocean. Drift wood, fossil seashells, red coral. Pieces of seashells smoothed and shaped from years and years of ocean’s erosion. The uniquely shaped piece of driftwood, was, what inspired me to make this statement necklace right at the moment I found it on a beautiful California beach. I left the wood natural just like I found it, I didn’t want to add any oil or wax because the wind and waves did their beautiful work of natural art.

Whenever I go, I am always looking out for interesting pieces of nature, treasures to keepsake and add to my collection and use them later for my art and creations. This way every design it is One of a Kind and has his own story behind it and I love that!

For this necklace I used Copper wire left natural and not oxidized, so that the time will create the natural patina on it. I have created three hanging pendants with pieces of natural gemstones, Red Coral, Amazonite and Agate, three faceted Crystals, yellow Citrine, Smoky and Clear, a Fossil Seashell piece with a natural hole and an Abalone piece. This combination of pieces is beautiful and the gemstones colors perfectly remind the ocean water. I wrapped the copper wire to the driftwood following the natural curves and holding the pendants. A tan color flat suede adjustable leather cord is the finishing touch for this unique necklace.
All my Jewelry Designs are single pieces created to have a life and standing on their own beautifully in their unique and unexpected combination of natural elements. My work is made as Custom Order can be purchased and Ordered here on this Blog or if is listed on my Etsy Shop.
I also accept custom orders creating a “Keepsake Memories Jewelry” a design piece with your own special memories or found objects in nature, or not I can create your own story. If you are interested in a special piece don’t hesitate to Contact me.

I hope that you enjoyed reading this post and as always I love to read your comments! ❤
Thank you for sharing my Art!

Making Art From Nature Finds

Today I am happy to share one of my latest work. I have been busy with some interesting commissions that I will reveal very soon in my next coming posts.
In the mean time, today I like to share what I have created out of a beautiful nature find, a unique piece of “Eucalyptus Tree Bark” I have found this piece near the tree where it belonged, it did speak to me and I took it. I love the shape is not a flat piece it is curved and is about 13 inches long and 4.5 inches wide in the widest part. This piece is in perfect conditions the grain has a lovely natural white patina. I did nothing to it than just passing a soft cloth to brush off eventual dust. Sorry I haven’t taken a photo of the natural bark before drawing, I guess I was too excited and inspired to start working on it.
What turned out is a mysterious face and ethereal portrait, created with only a black and a white Ink pens. I loved and enjoyed drawing this piece very much. Following the natural grain of the wood and letting the curves lead my drawing allowing this face to come alive and out to us. It is a one of a kind piece, I don’t have a title yet but you all can help me to find one, you can tell me in the comments what do you see in her expression? What she is telling you? Your help is very much appreciated and together we can find a title for her.

Nature is a great source of inspiration in many ways and especially in Art because it stimulates your creativity helping you to relax and feel grounded. When you are able to feel connected with the earth, you are and feel centered and balanced letting go negativity no matter what’s going on around you. I love nature in all the aspects and benefits it give us. I based my life on nature and natural remedies to take care myself health wise and successfully. I enjoy always time spent outdoor it is so precious walking in the wood or enjoying a walk on the shore near the ocean, I like hiking and exploring places in appreciation of what often we take for granted.

Nature is precious and inspire me in many ways and in all the mediums I work with. I am always on the look out to find interesting things that I can create with. I also have based my whole Jewelry Collection on nature. I am so happy when I can find interesting and inspiring pieces as gift of nature to collect and create with.
I love leaves, tree bark, gemstones, fossils, sea shells, driftwood, flowers, branches and more. I love to salvage these precious finds and give them a new life and purpose through my art.

Details about my drawing:
Ink drawing supplies used: ink pens Micron Black ink #03 and #05, UniBall Signo Angelic Colour White pen, Eucalyptus Tree Bark approx. size 13 × 4.5 inches.

My Lighthouse painting found home in Scotland!
- – LIMITED EDITION ART PRINTS –

– Lighthouse (Rhode Island) –
Today I have a nice news to share with you!
My watercolor painting “Lighthouse – Rhode Island” was created last July 2016 during my participation to the first edition of the World Watercolor Month a worldwide challenge that did bring together artists from all over the world to create 31 paintings in 31 days. My Lighthouse is actually available in Limited Edition Art Prints on my Etsy Shop Carolina Russo Art one of prints just Sold recently to a dear friend Whafflemethis part of our Community here on WordPress. I love Lighthouses and seascapes they are so beautiful bring calmness and meditative feelings! When I painted the Original watercolor, I searched for inspiration and I came across beautiful images of “Rhode Island” an US State in New England, lots of lovely views and places. I found over a Google search a beautiful photo of a lighthouse located near the city of Newport. That was my inspiration for my painting I have posted the photo below for you to see (sorry I don’t know the photographer name to give credit).

Here is the photo that I have received this morning, the painting is beautifully framed in a cherry wood frame, looks great in his new home in Scotland. Rich aka wafflemethis recently ordered the art print with the option upon request to have the painting mounted with a matt which I personally prepare. This is an option that I offer for a small difference of price to Limited Edition Prints, so that the print when received is ready to be framed. We decided for a blue matt because brings out greatly the colors of the painting and match with another “Lighthouse” painting of mine that he previously purchased, and I am sure they look great together.

This is the reference photo I used to create the painting in my vision and signature style.

Details about my watercolor:
watercolor painting is outlined with black ink pens. I used French Artist grade Watercolors Sennelier, Ink pen Pigma Micron Black #01 and a Pentel Prera fountain pen. Painted over Arches watercolor paper grain fin cold pressed 300g 140lb

Difference between the photos, the first one taken at the end of the Summer, the hills were pretty dry and all was of a rich brown color, the second photo is on the same trail just a different spot in Spring a day or two after the rain all is beautifully green!
