Every October, artists all over the world take on the InkTober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day the entire month.
Anyone can do InkTober just pick up a pen and start drawing!
Illustrator Jake Parker is the creator of this great challenge and initiative started in October 2009. Jake created InkTober as a challenge to improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. It has since grown into a worldwide endeavor with thousands of artists taking on the challenge every year.
I am very excited this year to join Jake and participate to this great challenge with artists all over the world! I really would love to create all the 31 ink drawings. Last July I participated and completed my challenge for the “World Watercolor Month” 31 Paintings in 31 Days, very similar to InkTober. Tomorrow I am ready to start this new challenge with a new sketchbook, inks and my creativity. I will try to post my drawings daily and if happen that I am too busy to post it doesn’t means that I am not drawing then look for to the next day post. Be ready for my new InkTober Gallery.
Visit Jake Parker website for more details, inspiration and lots to learn. I exported here the rules and Official prompt list for the month.

Today I like to debut here and introduce you my latest watercolor painting the title is “Night And Day” she is another creature from my “Mystic World Collection” I also wrote a poem to tell her beautiful story.
When the sun rise
she emits powerful rays of sunshine,
joy and merriment
sending warm feelings of love through the light
and a breeze
move the petals of a sunflower sending sunshine to the world.
When is twilight
she brings glowing light from the sky when
her other half is below the horizon
her rays of sunshine become refraction and scattering
she emits rays of love into a universal light
illuminating the Earth until dusk
she blows stars in the wind welcoming the night.

“I wish to myself a wonderful Birthday fulfilled with joy, happiness, light and love,
creating the journeys of my life one step at the time doing what I love, with a never-ending creativity that will always speak to others through my heart and soul“
Today I am sharing with you my project and artwork a new Digital Portrait!
This time I am starting a new Collection of Portraits dedicated to the world of “MUSIC” and Artists. I loved to create this portrait very much, because is inspired and dedicated to my favorite nowadays band from Scotland “The Twilight Sad” and to their great and unique music. This year The Twilight Sad had an amazing and successful North American Tour as the opening band chosen by the iconic “The Cure” for this full-fledged 2016 World Tour together. In October they will be back on stage with The Cure Touring around Europe for the final dates of the Tour. I attended one of the fantastic concerts last May. I have seen them in Los Angeles at The Hollywood Bowl in one of the three sold out shows, it was an amazing and wonderful concert that I never wanted to miss. If you haven’t you can read my detailed Blog Post here.
Details about my Digital Portrait
For this portrait I loved to use the beautiful photos of International Live Music Photographer, “Mauro Melis”, his work is stunning! He had the opportunity to photograph many amazing bands during the years, creating beautiful memories throughout his photography. And I am honored that he let me use his photos for create my artwork this digital portrait. I used three images of The Twilight Sad performing during two dates of the North American Tour. These below are the original photos I used before my digital intervention and creation.
Singer James Graham – Concert June 18, 2016 – Madison Square Garden, New YorkGuitar – Andy MacFarlane – Concert May 17, 2016 – El Paso, TexasDrummer – Mark Devine – Concert May 17, 2016 – El Paso, Texas
I love to create these ethereal digital Portraits. They are my evolving idea and concept to combining images and telling a story in the form of Visual-Art. Each photo has a meaning behind it and tell the Portrait story. During my creative process I am very selective of which photo I use and I spend lots of time researching for the right ones, with the right tones of colors, right lighting and more details to look at it. This portrait is create with three photos but in my experience during my artistic journey I have made images with 10 and more photos. The process of creating is complex and introspective there is a lots of work and lots of myself in each final image. I am happy the way this portrait turned out and I plan to create more of them for the Music Collection. For now The Twilight Sad are my shining stars on this special portrait!
I hope that you like my Digital Art and that you will share your impressions on this portrait!
A special thanks goes to The Twilight Sad with my best wishes for their European Tour dates and a great thank you to Mauro Melis for his stunning photography and his kindness to me.

The Season is changing and so the colors in nature we are getting close to the Autumnal equinox 2016, which would be on September 22.
The Fall season will bring us new enjoyable things of different kinds during the transition from Summer to Winter. Here in California I wont feel much that transition which I would love it!
Yesterday I was inspired to paint a Sunflower thinking to the beautiful nature in the wilderness. I wanted to paint in autumnal colors and add some character to the composition.
I painted the sunflower directly with the watercolors without trace it with pencil before. I loved letting the water flow and blend with the colors. This time I also wanted to create a different effect leaving some of the leafs in white and just outline them with the black ink pen, the white leafs are the only thing that I traced in pencil I really like how it turned out and I hope that you do too let me know your impressions! <3
Details about my doodlewash: watercolor outlined with black and blue ink pen. I used French Artists Watercolors Sennelier l’Aguarelle 12 demi-godets half-pans travel metal box and Pigma Micron Black ink #01 and a Blue Pentel ink pen. Painted over a cold press 140 lb watercolor paper pad size 7.5 x 9 inches!
With this watercolor I am also joining Charlie atdoodlewashfor #WorldWatercolorGroup

Today my watercolor illustration is for #SeptemberAdventure I am playing along with Charlie at doodlewash for the theme of this month which is “Travel Memories”. This post put together several of the inspiring prompts and ideas that Charlie listed for the 30 days of painting. This beautiful September is a month dear to me because my Birthday is coming up sometime soon.
My watercolor today is about travels. In my past years I have been travelling around Europe visiting beautiful places and creating great memories in my life. Today my illustration doesn’t just bring back my travelling memories but is especially in memory of the day I traveled from the other side of the ocean where is my country Italy to USA. I already mentioned in another post that last August 22nd has been 14 years that I live here in California. My illustration is a way to remember that long day I traveled from Naples my City, via London to Los Angeles, it took approximately 20 hour it was an adventure for sure! ;-)
