Today my watercolor illustration is for #SeptemberAdventure I am playing along with Charlie at doodlewash for the theme of this month which is “Travel Memories”. This post put together several of the inspiring prompts and ideas that Charlie listed for the 30 days of painting. This beautiful September is a month dear to me because my Birthday is coming up sometime soon.
My watercolor today is about travels. In my past years I have been travelling around Europe visiting beautiful places and creating great memories in my life. Today my illustration doesn’t just bring back my travelling memories but is especially in memory of the day I traveled from the other side of the ocean where is my country Italy to USA. I already mentioned in another post that last August 22nd has been 14 years that I live here in California. My illustration is a way to remember that long day I traveled from Naples my City, via London to Los Angeles, it took approximately 20 hour it was an adventure for sure! 😉
Details about my doodlewash:
watercolor is outlined with black, blue and brown ink pens. I used French Artists Watercolors Sennelier l’Aguarelle 12 demi-godets half-pans travel metal box and Pigma Micron Black and Brown ink #01 and a Blue Pentel ink pen. Painted over a Mixed Media Sketchbook!

Today I like to share with you my new watercolor, I made it last night before go to bed and it made me happy. I love the white Dove is such a beautiful bird and it became a great symbol of love and peace. It is rare to see them but each time I see one flying in the sky I stop everything just to admire her beauty and feelings that she brings. Yesterday I was pinning on my boards on Pinterest and I came across a lovely photo of a Dove that inspired me to paint as soon I saw it. I had that urge to paint it right at that moment! If you paint or sketch or also if you write or create any kind of things then you know what that feeling is and means, it was just late before go to bed not really a time to paint but I didn’t wanted to miss that magic moment of inspiration that strike you unexpected so I did! I actually made it pretty quickly and I like it 😉 there is a beautiful quote that I want to share with you today and is from an Italian artist from Tuscany he was trained under the influence of Giotto is part of the Art history, long time ago we are talking of the year 1390! Is dear to me because is from an artist that contribute to the beautiful art in my native country Italy. But no matter the long time passed the words of this artist are very inspiring and motivating today! I wrote this quote on the first page of one of my sketchbooks I can read it all the time and will keep motivate and inspiring me.
“DAY AFTER DAY
NEVER FAIL TO DRAW SOMETHING
WHICH, HOWEVER LITTLE IT MAY BE,
WILL YET IN THE END BE MUCH”
Cennino Cennini

Today I like to introduce you my latest watercolor painting and creation she is Azur a creature from a Mystic World, she comes from a place where everything is beautiful and peaceful like a dream. A place of art where creativity and fantasy lead the way to a life of freedom and happiness. Azur beside to be alive in a watercolor painting she could be the main character in an illustrated story or a beautiful character in a computer game or more… The beautiful part is… that she can be whatever I create her to be! 😉

I often enjoy to paint completely out schemes and let my creativity flow like a river while holding my brushes and pens. I enjoy to create whimsical and ethereal faces or figures that seems to come out of a fairytale or dreamy world bringing happiness and joy.
This is Azur’s Mystic Portrait next would be nice to see her in full figure! What do you think? I love your comments ❤

PEACE
a precious word I have been thought
from the day I was born
a word made of many words
a word made of many colors
a word made of many thoughts
a word to be shared
a word that rhyme with love
and acceptance
find harmony inside yourself
to walk peacefully during your life path

I love the deep contrast and the blue color fusing in the black darkness and the lighting created by the full moon that brings out the reality of the eyes over the other nature elements in the background. This portrait was very intriguing and inspiring to create.
To be able to create this portrait and all the other ones I used beautiful photos found on Pinterest most of the images used are not my own Photography (I apologize but I haven’t found the Photographers names to give Credits if anyone recognize their photos please let me know).

YesterdayAfter Featured of the Month August 2016

Hello everyone during the past few months I made beautiful new connections. Thanks to everyone for the participation to our weekly Meet and Greet Fridays I had the opportunity to discover and connect with numerous and inspiring Blogs and it is not easy for me to choose only one each month. Sorry I had to skip the month of July cause I have been very busy with the World Watercolor Month event. But finally I was able to made my pick for the month of August.
This month we will have the opportunity to travel around the world of Maria and read all about it !
Today I am very pleased and honored to introduce you my new friend and Featured of the Month and featured is…Maria Jansson and her beautiful Blog
“I am passionate about; exploring the back roads, being fit, healthy food, hiking, camping, horses, wide open spaces, road trips, the joy of hearing my daughters laugh, and ending each day in peace.
My grandmother gave me my first camera when I was five years old, and I’ve been taking photos ever since.
See you soon!”
Maria

I connected recently with Maria I came across her Blogs because my passion for photography. I loved her beautiful Photography and after visiting and following her Blog we stayed connected, we have many things in common that we can relate and love. Maria is a lovely new friend for me here on the Bloghosphere. I am very happy I was able to connect. I love to read her comments to my posts and see her stopping by. She has a great love for nature, horses and photograph them beautifully! And I am happy to share her Blog with you!
This is an excerpt of her About Page…
“My grandmother gave me my first camera when I was 5 years old. The photos on this blog represent the beauty I experience, in my not so ordinary life! It would be my greatest joy if they could serve as a source of inspiration for you!
Horses have been my passion even longer than photography, and for a while I had an Equine Photography business. I decided to travel some side roads in life, and to temporary let go of full time photography. I grew up in a small mountain village in Sweden, and I have traveled extensively in Europe, and the US. I believe in the law of attraction, in kindness, and a humble attitude to life. I have a BA in Natural Science, and Early Childhood Education. I’m genuinely interested in a sustainable lifestyle. While not working full time as a photographer I’ve been learning valuable skills connected to my goal of having a homestead on a few acres. Lately my fingers have been starting to itch to make photography a full-time business again. Right now I am learning more about the business side of photography, and collecting all the equipment I need to start out in the best possible way, when I’m ready”... (Continue reading here)
