I am excited to announce that is now available a Open Edition Mini Art Prints of my “Original Watercolor Painting” titled “Ethereal Mermaid” is the beautiful portrait of a mermaid underwater sit over a seaweed leaf. I have painted this watercolor Mermaid last year for the World Watercolor Month event and re-posted this year for the Mermay challenge event. I am sure that some of you remember this painting!

The Mini Prints are signed and ready to be framed, is the perfect addition to your art collection, or a lovely little gift to all the “Mermaids Lovers”.

I don’t like thinking about Christmas too far in advance.

But, a couple of years back, I got caught having to make most of my Christmas shopping very last minute, and I swore to myself “never again!”.

This year, I thought I would do something special. Since I’ve come to know many very talented artists through blogging, I decided I’d try to buy as many gifts as I can from their online shops!

That way, as I explained it to Chéri, we’d have lovely, handmade, unique gifts, coming from all around the world. On the plus side, we wouldn’t have to go through the trouble of fighting other Christmas shoppers at the mall, and we’d encourage wonderfull people to keep creating beautifull art!

I spent most of the day yesterday updating the Shop, pretty much all my double challenge paintings for #mabdrawlloweenclub and #inktober are now available in Limited Edition Signed Prints! I also wanted to make it special for you and lowered my prices a lot, Prints price start as low as $12, you find two sizes available and some are Hand Embellished with gold or silver inks to be as close as possible to the original painting! This painting is inspired by the prompt Coffin and try to make it less creepy and more juicy! I decided to paint again my big eyes style Ms. Wednesday Addams, but this time she is doing meditation peacefully sit on a “Coffin” just to stay in the Halloween spirit… Namaste 🕉 btw I don’t think I ever seen the Addams family doing meditation especially Wednesday so my interpretation it is something different! 😉

❤ Details about my paintings:
My Ink drawing is outlined with ink pens. Pentel Pocket Brush black ink. Ink pens used COPIC Multiliner Black ink #03 and 05, Micron dark red ink #1. A Alvin Draft/Matic #03 Limited Edition Pink Mab Graves Pencil. A dash of watercolor, I used French Artists Watercolors Sennelier l’Aguarelle, Pentel Aqua Brush – I painted on Bee Paper for watercolor 140lb, 100% cotton, cold pressed, size 6×9 inches .

Every year in October since 2009, artists all over the world take on the InkTober drawing challenge created by Illustrator Jake Parker by doing one ink drawing a day the entire month. (read my previous post) Other amazing artists have created their own challenges during October. This Year I will Join two amazing challenges InkTober and Drawlloween is a little more spoocky Halloween themed created and hosted on Instagram by Pop Surrealist artist Mab Graves! I will create my daily drawings inspired by the combination of the two Challenges daily prompt words and I have combined the names creating my own challenge “DrawllooweenTober” yes this is my plan to be able to join and drawing daily for both amazing challenges at the same time, if you like to join me use also hashtag #drawlloweentober

This is my latest watercolor painting just finished yesterday and launched on Instagram @carolinarussoart, it is my artistic version of character Miss “Wednesday Addams” created in my signature style of watercolor and inks!
My painting is inspired by Wednesday Friday Addams a fictional character created by American cartoonist Charles Addams in his comic strip The Addams Family, first appeared in 1938 on The New Yorker cartoon. The character has also appeared in television and film, in both the live action and animated formats.

Artists around the world like to portray this intriguing character creating beautiful Fan-Art artworks in their own style! So here is mine!

I enjoyed to paint her in a delicate color palette portrait!

From my Photo to a Watercolor Painting Challenge! Plumeria Flowers

Today I am happy to post my just finished “Plumeria Flowers” watercolor painting! I loved to create this piece in one of my signature styles: Watercolor and Ink.
I like how it turned out and I hope you like it too! Be inspired by this if you like painting or drawing, go, get paper and brushes and paint it! 🙂 this is a Challenge!

On June 14 I posted one of my photos, it was a beautiful “Plumeria Flower“ while writing the post, I had the inspiration and the wish to paint it and turn my photo in a painting. What a beautiful idea to share it with other artists and giving a painting Challenge to the friends of the #worldwatercolorgroup and not it is open to anyone that want to participate, it still time if you’re inspired by this Challenge, the deadline is June 30, you have few more days if you would like to participate! On June 30, If there are more paintings I will post a Gallery with the participating to this challenge!
