– Lighthouse (Rhode Island) –
Today I have a nice news to share with you!
My watercolor painting “Lighthouse – Rhode Island” was created last July 2016 during my participation to the first edition of the World Watercolor Month a worldwide challenge that did bring together artists from all over the world to create 31 paintings in 31 days. My Lighthouse is actually available in Limited Edition Art Prints on my Etsy Shop Carolina Russo Art one of prints just Sold recently to a dear friend Whafflemethis part of our Community here on WordPress. I love Lighthouses and seascapes they are so beautiful bring calmness and meditative feelings! When I painted the Original watercolor, I searched for inspiration and I came across beautiful images of “Rhode Island” an US State in New England, lots of lovely views and places. I found over a Google search a beautiful photo of a lighthouse located near the city of Newport. That was my inspiration for my painting I have posted the photo below for you to see (sorry I don’t know the photographer name to give credit).

Here is the photo that I have received this morning, the painting is beautifully framed in a cherry wood frame, looks great in his new home in Scotland. Rich aka wafflemethis recently ordered the art print with the option upon request to have the painting mounted with a matt which I personally prepare. This is an option that I offer for a small difference of price to Limited Edition Prints, so that the print when received is ready to be framed. We decided for a blue matt because brings out greatly the colors of the painting and match with another “Lighthouse” painting of mine that he previously purchased, and I am sure they look great together.

This is the reference photo I used to create the painting in my vision and signature style.

Details about my watercolor:
watercolor painting is outlined with black ink pens. I used French Artist grade Watercolors Sennelier, Ink pen Pigma Micron Black #01 and a Pentel Prera fountain pen. Painted over Arches watercolor paper grain fin cold pressed 300g 140lb
Limited Edition Art Prints of this painting are available on my Etsy Shop!

Today post is about one of my latest commission work!
I loved to create this painting title “Dragons and Castles” it was very inspiring and it goes to another kind and talented Fantasy Author, she is part of our Community her Blog is A.S.Akkalon I am sure some of you came across her Blog already!
Life is always a surprise!
Awhile ago I made the painting “Katie The Writer” you that follow my Blog maybe remember that post! And because a kind comment left me then, I got to know better Alecia aka A.S.Akkalon she left me a very nice comment telling me how much she loved my painting for Katie and the story behind it!
I responded to her comment: “Thank you very much in a way I am sure you can relate with it! You’re a writer I could’have portrait you with castle and dragon 😉 Thank you for stopping by my Blog and I love your comment!” ❤
The comments are what did bring us closer together and the beautiful surprise of her decision to custom order to me this painting. A Fantasy Portrait representing her with her cat and what she love to write about it in her fantasy stories. So a Dragon and a Castle were a must to paint! As part of my creative process we started to exchange emails and talk about her own idea and my vision of the painting and here there is the beautiful and interesting outcome! Alecia purchased the Original Watercolor Painting and a digital image to use on her Blog. At this moment her painting is in the hands of the postal service, is in transit going overseas all the way to beautiful New Zealand! Today Alecia couldn’t wait to receive the “Original” and she used the digital image to share a post about it, you can read it here it is “A dragon, a castle and an audiobook” visit her Blog there are lots of good and fun reading!
Thank you Alecia so much for supporting my art with your commission and for the opportunity to create this painting for you and have my Art in another beautiful part of the world!
I hope that you all enjoyed reading this post and to know more about behind the scenes of my paintings!

These days here in California is unusually raining a lot, which is very good for the earth everything around here is now way greener and beautiful! Usually the hills where I go hiking are dry and the vegetation camouflage with the dirt and rocks at this moment it is so green like rarely I have seen, so I went to take some photos there too I will post them here next time. For today enjoy this beautiful ocean’s sunset! And you can also see me in action trying to capture the moment! <3

My interview with Music Composer and independent Artist James Radcliffe.

I am so happy and grateful that I was able to do this Interview!
Today I am very pleased to introduce you with James Radcliffe a wonderful multi talented Artist, a dear friend from the music world and part of our community. James is an independent artist a music composer from the beautiful land of Scotland.
Thank you James for your precious time doing this interview with me. I love to give the opportunity to get to know you and your art.
Let’s start with the questions:
For the reader that doesn’t know you and your music, can you please introduce who is James Radcliffe?
I am an independent artist based in Edinburgh Scotland. I make music, I write, I take photographs and perform live. In the last 4 years or so, I have built a grassroots social media following in excess of 100’000 people. This is what allows me to make art as a living.

Your music has a very distinctive sound and style, when listening it brings you in far away places, almost out of this world. Can you describe your creative process and what prompt inspire you while creating? And how do you categorize your genre?
First, thank you very much, I take this as a great compliment. It is hard to nail down a creative process, as much of it is a mystery. I will say though, that there are two main phases: the creative phase and the craft phase. The work is usually born from a kind of state of mind which is outside of time, when I am fully absorbed. The craft is where I take the pieces of rock and polish them into something beautiful. I cycle back and forth between these two until the work is finished.
You just released your new beautiful and fantastic Album ” Murder The Impossible” can you tell us your feelings and meanings behind it?
Murder the Impossible was a collection of tracks that I worked on in a very specific way in the studio. It took me over a year to get them right. Each of the tracks was aimed at a specific feeling, for example, the first track ‘World Enough and Time’ was aimed at the feeling of ecstasy I get from truly great music. One of the reasons it took me so long, is because I played all the instruments, including the cello, and did all of the studio work.

What is your creative Dream Project?
The thing that I am working on right now. One of the great things about being independent is that you get to choose exactly what you want to work on.
What is happening at the moment? Are you working on any new ideas? Do you have in plan for any live gig?
A lot of stuff is happening right now. I am generally always working, on new ideas and current work. I think I am going to do something quite exciting and new for my next project, which I may release quite soon. I am also playing with the idea of taking all my music off the internet.
Live performance will definitely be happening soon. And I am looking into touring options as we speak.
This question is very personal and introspective, I love to ask this to artists. If you describe or picture your inner soul, how will you describe it? And what color it would be?
Like a roiling ocean. And black. Black as strong coffee.
