R.I.P. My love Grey! ❤️
I am coping with one of the saddest day, my beautiful and sweet Dutch Bunny “Grey” passed away unexpected last night 6/9/2017. He was only 3 years old and was coping with an abscess near his jaw discovered 2 weeks ago, abscess is a common condition in rabbits but very difficult to treat without surgery, at the moment for the past week he was under antibiotics shots treatment before decide for a surgery. Until yesterday morning he was doing pretty well. Last evening something happened that we don’t know he had his shot and he started to develop a condition and eventually complications and passed away during the night! I am very sad, I loved him very much he gave me so much happiness during these 3 years that it is hard to explain. The beautiful bond and unconditional love I was able to experience with him, is something I will never forget and would be always inside me! Today I miss him very much and he took a piece of my heart with him… ❤
Time after time I like to look back at my old watercolor paintings. I like to see how much my art change and my skills grow during the years! Recently I came across this painting that I made in 2013 around this time of the year. It is almost four years ago and I like to re-share it with you all. This painting is very dear to me because is a view of “Venice” Venezia in Italian, it is one beautiful city in Italy, my native country! It is a view of Venice that I just painted out of my visual memory without any photo reference. It is a loose watercolor, I remember I was practicing the loose technique so hard to master! I know there is a lot that I could’ve done better, it was a fast painting and somehow, I am pleased with how this painting turned out! I think I was able to capture the feeling and essence of Venice. If you have been to Venice then maybe you recognize this view. I wasn’t born in Venice it’s not my hometown. I was born in Naples another beautiful city on the sea. That’s why I love the ocean so much and I love to paint water, there is something about water that it is so inspiring to me in many ways, artistically and not. I like the reflections and the colors. I often base my palette on the beautiful range of colors of the sea. The sea and the ocean are very often captured also in my photography!
Details about Watercolor: I used French Artists Watercolors Sennelier l’Aguarelle and I painted on a Canson watercolor paper 140 lb cold press.

Today I came across the post of the weekly photo challenge at The Daily Postand also if this is the theme for last Wednesday April 19 and tomorrow would be a new theme, I still want to participate to this one, with one of my latest photo and share the beauty of nature with you all.
From The Daily Post: The theme for this week is “Earth” celebrating the Earth Day and our planet. This week, share an image that means “earth” to you — whether it’s a panorama of a landscape that takes your breath away, a close-up revealing a detail in nature, or another scene that honors the outdoors, we welcome your takes on the theme!
The photo I am sharing today is a beautiful Southern California sunset filled with lovely yellow flowers. I took this photo some days ago during my daily evening hike. I love my walk at sunset time it give me the opportunity to take beautiful photos of sunsets and fierce colored skies. California is a wonderful place for sunset photography no matter where you are if on the hills or near the ocean. This photo was taken on the hills of a trail I love to go. The nature here is beautiful lately especially after all the rain we had a month ago, everything turned out beautifully green a joy for the eyes since here often the hills looks yellow brownish and dry.
I enjoyed my walk a lot lately with these beautiful kind of evenings, but this week is already getting too warm and everything is already changing color.
When I took this photo, I really wanted to capture all the elements that makes our earth beautiful, the orange fierce sunset sky, the clouds, the land and the flowers. I almost felt I was creating one of my paintings, I had a clear idea of how I wanted the photo to be. To get this angle for my shot I had to almost laying on the ground! Turned out exactly what I’ve envisioned! I hope that you enjoy this portrait of nature as symbol of our precious Earth as much as I do.

My watercolor painting “Lighthouse – Rhode Island” was created last July 2016 during my participation to the first edition of the World Watercolor Month a worldwide challenge that did bring together artists from all over the world to create 31 paintings in 31 days. My Lighthouse is actually available in Limited Edition Art Prints on my Etsy Shop Carolina Russo Art one of prints just Sold recently to a dear friend Whafflemethis part of our Community here on WordPress. I love Lighthouses and seascapes they are so beautiful bring calmness and meditative feelings! When I painted the Original watercolor, I searched for inspiration and I came across beautiful images of “Rhode Island” an US State in New England, lots of lovely views and places. I found over a Google search a beautiful photo of a lighthouse located near the city of Newport. That was my inspiration for my painting I have posted the photo below for you to see (sorry I don’t know the photographer name to give credit).
Here is the photo that I have received this morning, the painting is beautifully framed in a cherry wood frame, looks great in his new home in Scotland. Rich aka wafflemethis recently ordered the art print with the option upon request to have the painting mounted with a matt which I personally prepare. This is an option that I offer for a small difference of price to Limited Edition Prints, so that the print when received is ready to be framed. We decided for a blue matt because brings out greatly the colors of the painting and match with another “Lighthouse” painting of mine that he previously purchased, and I am sure they look great together.
This is the reference photo I used to create the painting in my vision and signature style.
Reference photo – Rhode Island Lighthouse (Photo Credits Google Search).

This month I participate again to this interesting monthly writing event that brings together Art and Words on VisualVerse.org Anthology Press.
Today my new poem was published, this poem is not even here on my Blog yet!
The image that you see here above was the starting point image assigned this month by Visual Verse and 1 hour to write between 50 to 500 words. I think that my poem “Reflection” is a good combination with the image and has a good positive message.
I am very happy to share this with you all as a nice achievement of my creative writing and that now my poem is part of this interesting Anthology Literary Press and published on another of their Chapter.
This is a link to the Archive with all the images and writings published until now!
I am so happy that my writings are part of this innovative and great Anthology Press this is another beautiful way for my voice as an Artist to be heard.
I hope that you like my new poem! Please let me know what you think your comment means a lot to me!
Today post is about one of my latest commission work!
I loved to create this painting title “Dragons and Castles” it was very inspiring and it goes to another kind and talented Fantasy Author, she is part of our Community her Blog is A.S.Akkalon I am sure some of you came across her Blog already!
Life is always a surprise!
Awhile ago I made the painting “Katie The Writer” you that follow my Blog maybe remember that post! And because a kind comment left me then, I got to know better Alecia aka A.S.Akkalon sheleft me a very nice comment telling me how much she loved my painting for Katie and the story behind it!
I responded to her comment: “Thank you very much in a way I am sure you can relate with it! You’re a writer I could’have portrait you with castle and dragon 😉 Thank you for stopping by my Blog and I love your comment!” ❤
The comments are what did bring us closer together and the beautiful surprise of her decision to custom order to me this painting. A Fantasy Portrait representing her with her cat and what she love to write about it in her fantasy stories. So a Dragon and a Castle were a must to paint! As part of my creative process we started to exchange emails and talk about her own idea and my vision of the painting and here there is the beautiful and interesting outcome! Alecia purchased the Original Watercolor Painting and a digital image to use on her Blog. At this moment her painting is in the hands of the postal service, is in transit going overseas all the way to beautiful New Zealand! Today Alecia couldn’t wait to receive the “Original” and she used the digital image to share a post about it, you can read it here it is “A dragon, a castle and an audiobook”visit her Blog there are lots of good and fun reading!
Thank you Alecia so much for supporting my art with your commission and for the opportunity to create this painting for you and have my Art in another beautiful part of the world!
